We hosted an insightful session on *Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)* led by *Dr. Zainab Javed*, Clinical Psychologist.
Organized by *Dr. Maryam Amjad*, Faculty of Psychology, this mandatory training was designed to strengthen the psychotherapeutic skills of our MS Clinical Psychology students.
Weβre grateful for the practical tools, case discussions, and renewed focus on flexibility and values-driven practice β another step forward in shaping competent, compassionate clinicians.

Faculty of psychology at COMSATS University Islamabad recently hosted an insightful symposium on βItβs Ok Not to Be Ok: Understanding Mental Health and Taking the Next Steps.β The event brought together students, faculty, and mental health professionals to engage in an open and meaningful dialogue on a topic of growing importance.
The session was enriched by the presence of eminent guest speakers from Focus Life Rehabilitation Center, including Dr. Imran Jatoi, Dr. Hannan, and Ms. Rizma, and MS Ramsha. Drawing from their extensive clinical experience and expertise, they shared valuable perspectives on recognizing mental health challenges, breaking stigma, and adopting practical steps toward well-being.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr Yar, Director CUI Lahore emphasized the critical importance of prioritizing mental health within academic institutions and society at large. Dr. Shameem Fatima further contributed to the discussion, highlighting key psychological insights and the need for continued awareness and support systems.
The symposium concluded with concluding remarks by Dr Shariah and Dr Kashif, and a vote of thanks by Dr. Asia Nusrat HoD, who expressed gratitude to the speakers and participants for their active engagement and commitment to fostering a more compassionate and informed community.
Events like these serve as a reminder that acknowledging mental health is not a weakness, but a vital step toward healing and growth.
