We are pleased to share that our two faculty members represented the institution at the International Communication Association (ICA) 2026 conference held in Cape Town, South Africa, in June 2026.
Dr. Syed Saqib Saleem co-organised a panel and presented his work on constructive climate communication in journalism education, contributing to conversations that spanned journalism education, science communication, sustainability, audience research, and visual storytelling.
Similarly, Dr. Firasat Jabeen participated in a panel titled AI in Media Education: Perspectives from the Global South on June 6, 2026, describing it as a valuable opportunity to reconnect with fellow scholars, revive professional connections, and deepen knowledge in the field. Both scholars' participation at reflects Forman Christian College's growing presence in international academic discourse on communication, media, and education.

The faculty of Mass Communication welcomed Dr. Sam Pack, who is a professor of anthropology at Kenyon College, Ohio, USA. His academic engagements, particularly in media representation and ethnography, strongly resonate with several academic projects at Mass Communication department, FCCU. This is a wonderful academic exchange with several meaningful connections in future. Dr. Sikandar Hayat, Dean of Social Sciences and Chairperson of Sociology, Dr. Shamaila Athar, also graced the occasion.

Ms. Shamail Zehra took the students of MCOM 401: Radio Broadcasting on a recreational learning trip to Mabali island, Khanpur Dam as part of the course experience.
The trip gave students an opportunity to learn beyond the classroom through observation, interaction, creativity, and team bonding. It was a refreshing and memorable experience for everyone involved.
Special thanks to Mr. Shahid Ali Naeem and Dr. Syed Muhammad Saqib for their support and accompaniment throughout the trip.
