🌟 Promoting Ethical & Inclusive Islamic Finance 🌟

The School of Islamic Economics, Banking & Finance (SIEBF) at, in collaboration with the, successfully organized a two-day Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop on “Murabaha (Islamic Microfinance)”.

Dr. Ejaz Aslam, Head SIEBF, delivered an insightful session highlighting the transformative role of Islamic finance in building a just, transparent, and socially responsible financial system by eliminating Riba (interest), Gharar (uncertainty), and Maysir (speculation/gambling) from financial transactions.

The workshop focused on the practical implementation of Murabaha as an ethical and Shariah-compliant financing tool that promotes financial inclusion, supports small businesses, empowers underserved communities, and contributes to sustainable socio-economic development.

This initiative reflects the commitment of SIEBF and RDP toward strengthening industry-academia collaboration, promoting authentic Islamic financial knowledge, and building capacity for a more equitable and ethical financial future.

The School of Islamic Economics, Banking & Finance (SIEBF) at Minhaj University Lahore, in collaboration with the Rural Community Development Program, is pleased to organize an exclusive two-day Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop titled:

“TOT Murabaha (Islamic Microfinance)”

This specialized workshop aims to provide participants with comprehensive practical exposure and professional insights into Murabaha mechanisms and their significant role in promoting sustainable and community-driven Islamic microfinance practices.

The session will be conducted by distinguished trainers and industry experts:

Dr. Anam Iqbal
Mr. Shamin Haider

The workshop is designed to enhance participants’ understanding of Islamic microfinance operations, capacity building, and effective implementation of Murabaha models within the contemporary financial sector.

A delegation from Meezan Bank, Bank Alfalah Islamic, and Pak-Qatar Takaful, along with Dr. Ejaz Aslam, Head of the School of Islamic Economics, Banking & Finance (SIEBF)and Feaculty members, held a meeting with Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Deputy Chairman BOG, MUL regarding future collaboration and the promotion of Islamic Banking & Finance education.

During the meeting, discussions were held on internships, recruitment opportunities, industry-focused seminars, professional training programs, and research collaboration between academia and the Islamic finance industry.

The meeting also focused on strengthening institutional linkages and enhancing opportunities for students in the fields of Islamic banking, finance, and Takaful. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri also presented his authored books to the distinguished guests.

The School of Islamic Economics, Banking & Finance, Minhaj University Lahore, successfully organized an insightful guest lecture featuring Rana Waqas Shoukat, Head of Contact Center at MCB Bank Limited.
The session focused on the growing role of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing customer convenience and transforming modern banking services. The speaker shared valuable industry insights on how technology is reshaping customer experiences and driving efficiency in the financial sector.

Dr. Ejaz Aslam, Head of Department School of Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance , warmly welcomed the distinguished guest and expressed his appreciation for the speaker’s valuable and thought-provoking discussion on digitalization and AI.
The session was also attended by respected faculty members, including M***i Umar Farooq Shah (Lecturer) and Hafiz Muhammad Musa (Lecturer), from the Faculty of Islamic Economics, Banking & Finance.

Such sessions play a vital role in bridging the gap between academia and industry, equipping students with practical knowledge and future-ready insights.
