Parts Of Speech
There are eight main parts of speech

1 NOUN
A noun is the name of a person, place, thing or idea.
کسی بھی آدمی جانور جگہ یا کسی سوچ کے نام کو noun کہتے ہیں
Ali, London, table, dog, teacher, pen, city, happiness, hope
Ali lives in London.
Mariyam uses pen and paper to write letters.
2 PRONOUN
A pronoun is used in place of a noun۔
جب noun کی جگہ کوئی ضمیر استعمال جائے تو اس ضمیر کو انگریزی میں pronoun کہتے ہیں
Examples: I, you, it, we, us, them, those
I want her to dance with me.
3 ADJECTIVE
Adjective describes a noun
۔Adjective صفت کا نام ہوتا ہے جو اپنے noun کو بیان کرتا ہے
good, big, red, well, interesting
My dogs are big.
I like big dogs.
4 VERB
Shows an action or a state of being.
جو کوئی کام یا ہونے کی حالت کو ظاھر کرے
Examples: go, speak, eat, live, are, is
I listen to the word and then repeat it.
5 ADVERB
An adverb modifies a verb, an adjective or another
adverb. It tells how (often), where, when.
کسی بھی verb , adjective, یا کسی دوسرے adverb کو بیان کرے اسے adverb کہتے ہیں. یہ ہمیں بتاتا ہے کہ کوئی کام کیسے کب اور کہاں ہوا
Examples: slowly, very, always, well, too

6 PREPOSITION
Shows the relationship ofa noun or
pronoun to another word.
جو لفظ noun یا pronoun کا واسطہ کسی دوسرے لفظ سے ملائے وہ preposition ہوتا ہے
Examples: at, on, in, from, with, about
I left my keys on the table for you.
میں اپنی چابیاں آپکے لئے میز پر چھوڑ گیا
7 CONJUNCTION
Joins two words, ideas, phrases together
and shows how they are connected.
وہ لفظ جو دو جملوں کو آپس میں جوڑتا ہے یہ بتاتا ہے کہ انکا آپس میں کیا تعلق ہے
Examples: and, or, but, because, yet, so
I was hot and tired but still finished it.
مجھے گرمی لگ رہی تھی اور میں ٹھک گیا لیکن پھر بھی میں نے کام مکمل کیا
