Reigniting the Spirit of Debate at FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus!

The Voice Debating Society hosted its Orientation Debate on September 24, 2026, bringing together students and experienced alumni to engage in thought-provoking parliamentary debate.

The session featured the motion, “This House, as Joshua, will choose to be reborn as the tyrant rather than the slave,” encouraging participants to explore complex questions surrounding morality, power, suffering, privilege, agency, and choice.

Guest alumni speakers Hassan Rafique, Wassi Sheikh, and Ahmed Pervaiz joined student speakers Taha Tahir, Faiq Saeed, and Eurwa Zaidi, with the session judged by Syed Ali Osjah Bukhari.

With an audience of over 200 students, the event marked a meaningful step towards strengthening debating culture at FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus and building a vibrant, connected, and intellectually engaged debating community.

The Department of Humanities & Social Sciences successfully conducted the second edition of the workshop, “OBE in Practice: Transforming Learning Through AI,” in collaboration with the faculty of Government Graduate College for Women, Gulberg, Lahore. Building on the earlier workshop, the session focused on the practical integration of AI into Outcome-Based Education (OBE), with an emphasis on teaching, learning, and assessment.

Led and facilitated by Dr. Summaira Sarfraz, the workshop engaged participants through practical activities exploring AI-assisted needs analysis, lesson planning, learning activity design, assessment, and rubric development. The session also strengthened public–private sector academic collaboration, with follow-up feedback appreciating the coordination, knowledge sharing, and collaborative engagement between the two sectors.

Strengthening Outcome-Based Education at FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus!

The Department of Electrical Engineering (EE), FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus, organized a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) workshop titled “OBE Essentials: FLEX Computation and Closing the OBE Cycle using CQI” on September 18, 2026.

Conducted by Dr. Omer Saleem (Associate Professor and HoD, EE Department), the workshop focused on the core principles of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), the relationship between PEOs, PLOs, and CLOs, and the configuration and computation of direct assessment data using the FLEX LMS interface.

Faculty members also explored CLO and PLO attainment analysis and learned how to integrate Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) loops into subsequent course iterations, strengthening outcome-based assessment and continuous improvement practices within the department.

The session carried 1.0 CPD Point under PEC License No. PEB-P-NUCESL-0022.

FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus, Electrical Engineering Students Win Best Design Award at National Autonomous Submersible Design Competition 2026.

Pakistan recently witnessed a landmark achievement in robotics and underwater technology with the inaugural National Autonomous Submersible Design Competition 2026, hosted by the University of Lahore. Team RoboSapiens, comprising students from the BS Electrical Engineering program at FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus, has proudly secured the Best Design Award in the competition.

The competition brought together talented engineering students from across the country to design innovative solutions for challenging underwater applications. Representing the Department of Electrical Engineering, FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus, Team RoboSapiens comprised Mr. Muhammad, Mr. Ch. Hussnain Tahir, Ms. Yashfa Iqbal, Ms. Zainab Rashid, and Mr. Awais Iqbal. The team presented its autonomous submersible design before a distinguished panel comprising senior leadership of the Pakistan Navy and the Pakistan Naval Police. Their innovative design and strong technical ex*****on earned them the Best Design Award, marking an impressive achievement for FAST-NUCES.

The achievement reflects the strong culture of innovation, hands-on engineering, and real-world problem-solving fostered at FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus, while highlighting the capabilities of its Electrical Engineering students in emerging fields such as robotics technology and autonomous systems.

A four-session Faculty Orientation Program for newly hired faculty members was successfully conducted at FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus on August 12–13, 2026.

The sessions covered key areas including HR procedures, domain-specific training, EdTech/ICT tools, outcome-based assessment, institutional policies, professional ethics, effective teaching practices, semester operations, examinations, and invigilation.

The four sessions were hosted by Ayesha Iftikhar, IQAE, and conducted by Mr. Nasir Tufail, Dr. Arshad Ali, Mr. Muhammad Akmal, and Dr. Sara Khan.

The orientation was well received by the newly hired faculty, with active participation and engagement throughout. Overall, the program provided a valuable platform for faculty members to understand the academic, administrative, and professional expectations of their roles at FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus.
