Dr. Ajmal Psychological Society

The Department of Psychology and Dr. Ajmal Psychological Society continued the series of perspicacious seminars designed for ambitious minds. Another impactful session was arranged in collaboration with Manttaq and was graced with the presence of the Chairperson, Prof. Dr. Syeda Salma Hasan, and the faculty of the Department of Psychology.

Dr. Urusa Fahim, a renowned clinical psychologist, an inspiring academician, and a transformational coach, served as the resource person of the masterful lecture. She captivated her audience with her profound expertise and knowledge on the topic of 'Identity Crisis and Identity Development.
She closely evaluated the concept of 'Identity' with the attendees, helping them explore and enhance their own conceptions of the idea. Dr. Urusa further went on to critically analyse the views of various academic domains, like philosophy and psychology, regarding the notion of identity.

For the better understanding of the students, she further engaged them in entertaining activities to aid them in discovering their own identity.
The lecture concluded with an interactive Q/A session directed towards addressing the queries of the attendees.

"Academic Pursuits and Career Development" designed to aid young ambitious minds. The seminar was enthusiastically attended by both the students of the Department of Psychology and the faculty members.

Prof. Dr. Syeda Salma Hasan, the chairperson of the department of psychology and an eminent academician, graciously took time out of her packed schedule to address the students. The audience was provided with an ideal opportunity to benefit from her expert insight and valuable experience regarding various domains.

Dr. Salma initiated the seminar with an overview of academic pursuit, discussing various variables associated with it. She then emphasized the significance of understanding possible career paths while setting clear goals. The impact of intrinsic, extrinsic, and interpersonal factors on career aspirations was also explored. Additionally, the RIASEC personality test was administered amongst the attendees to help them identify potential careers aligning with their unique personality traits.

Dr. Salma proficiently concluded the seminar with an interactive Q/A session and precious advice and recommendations for a flourishing career development.

The Department of Psychology and Dr. Ajmal Psychological Society organised an insightful seminar on the topic “Initiating Your Clinical Practice: A Guide For Beginners”, tailored towards young, emerging talents. The seminar was graced by the presence of Chairperson, Department of Psychology, Prof. Dr. Syeda Salma Hasan and the faculty members of Department of Psychology.

Miss Amna Nawaz, a profound clinical psychologist and a lecturer at Government College University, Lahore, expertly delivered the lecture, sharing her valuable perspectives on the topic. The audience was kept engaged in an entertaining and informative discussion throughout the seminar. They were led to figure out the essentias, such as a good character and a strong passion, for a healthy and successful career growth.

Furthermore, the importance of using effective and ethical marketing was highlighted by Miss Amna, encouraging students to use social media platforms in a more productive manner. She motivated them to sharpen their skills and seek out available opportunities to gain experience and polish their flair.

The purpose of this event was to raise awareness about various health issues with relevance to psychology through various activities like quizzes, guessing games, whisper challenges and a lot of mind stimulating games. The students introduced various healthy and tasty food alternatives as well. Here are some details from the stalls that were displayed by 12 group of students and the activities involved in them.
