de’Montmorency College of Dentistry Holds Historic Convocation 2026

de’Montmorency College of Dentistry (DCD), Lahore, proudly celebrated its Convocation Ceremony 2026, marking a historic occasion as the institution conferred degrees upon graduates for 16 academic sessions, recognizing graduating batches from 2010 to 2024 for their academic achievements and professional accomplishments.

The ceremony was graced by Major General Prof. Dr. Nadeem Ahmed Rana, distinguished alumnus of the college, as the Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. Nadia Naseem, Pro Vice-Chancellor, University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore; Prof. Dr. Javed Akram, former Provincial Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education, Punjab; Prof. Dr. Zahra Khanum; and Prof. Dr. Asad Aslam attended as Guests of Honour.

Welcoming the graduates, their families, faculty members, and distinguished guests, Principal Prof. Dr. Nabeela Riaz congratulated the graduates and announced that future convocations would be held regularly every two years. She highlighted the outstanding performance of DCD students in UHS examinations and emphasized the need for a dedicated campus for the nearly century-old institution.

During the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nadia Naseem administered the professional oath to the graduates. Prof. Dr. Javed Akram urged young dentists to serve humanity with dedication, integrity, and compassion, while Major General Prof. Dr. Nadeem Ahmed Rana described his participation in the convocation as a matter of immense pride as an alumnus of the institution.

The event was successfully organized under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Nabeela Riaz through the dedicated efforts of the Steering Committee and Convocation Organizing Committee, comprising Prof. Dr. Zainab Rizvi, Associate Professor Dr. Shahzad, Associate Professor Dr. Sadia Shakeel, Assistant Professor Dr. Sadia Awais, Dr. Ayesha Khan, and Dr. Saba Mujahid, with the valuable support of faculty members, demonstrators, administrative staff, and student volunteers whose collective efforts ensured the smooth conduct of this landmark occasion.

The ceremony concluded with the conferment of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degrees and the presentation of commemorative shields to the distinguished guests.

Dr. Zaib Un Nisa ,Dr. Naeema Rabbani,Dr.Mahak Butt, Postgraduate Residents in the Orthodontics Department at de’Montmorency College of Dentistry, have brought honor to their institution by securing 3rd position in the prestigious LMDC DENTOSPHERE Postgraduate e-Poster Competition.

Their impactful research titled
“Therapeutic Potential of Gum Massage with Essential Oils in Halitosis Management: A Non-Randomized Clinical Trial”
stood out for its originality, clinical relevance, and holistic approach to periodontal care.

This pioneering work highlights the promising role of essential oils combined with therapeutic gum massage in managing halitosis, presenting a safe, effective, and natural adjunct to conventional periodontal therapy.

A remarkable achievement reflecting dedication, scientific curiosity, and the spirit of advancing evidence-based dentistry.

We are proud to share that Dr. Zukhraf Noor (2nd Year BDS), de’Montmorency College of Dentistry, secured 2nd Position in the E-Documentary Competition at LMDC Dentosphere.

Her award-winning documentary, “Obsession for a Perfect Smile,” sheds light on the growing influence of social media in shaping unrealistic beauty standards among young people. The documentary highlights how the pursuit of the so-called “perfect Hollywood smile” can lead to unnecessary and potentially harmful dental procedures, while often overlooking the importance of maintaining healthy oral habits and embracing natural individuality.
