It takes light 8 minutes to travel from the sun to the earth but the light itself isn't 8 minutes old. The light is produced at the core of the sun which is high intensity invisible gamma rays. From the core to the surface of the sun, it has to cover a distance of 430,000 miles but it's never a straight path as it hits photons along the way. So the light you will see tomorrow morning of 2021 AD was actually produced in 170,000 BC.

Look up at the night sky on January 10 to see a rare ‘triple conjunction’ of planets, as Jupiter, Saturn, and Mercury form a tight triangle in the sky.

The best time to see this phenomenon will be around 45 minutes after sunset on Sunday, by looking low in the sky toward the southwest horizon.
