Victim Blaming And Women Rights
During the last few days there is a discussion going on about Victim Blaming and Women Rights after leaking some harrasment videos online. These videos clearly showed that how men, the ultimate protector of women, became the harassers and violate women's body during daylight. No one was there to interfere and stop the horrible act. This shows that how women are unsafe in their own country. She feels alone and isolated amid some many men. This act challenged the narrative of "Mard" in our society. The debate arises how men should be brought up, how he should be trained to bear No from a woman, how he should respect woman in his family and public gatherings. The fingers also points out to the culture of victim blaming. This harassment and r**e culture is a mere consequence of the culture of victim blaming. When a harasser knows that society will put all blame on victim and he or she can go out of the system, the fear of punishment vanishes and the rate of crime increases.
There is a silver lining in the cloud that people start talking about education of Men, Victim blaming, and security of women in their society. When 51% of our population feels unsafe how she can build a strong family system and participate in the development of the Society. There is a hope that there would be a greater social change regarding women safety and gender equality in the next 10 to 15 years.
