The World Skills Competition 2026 (Central Region) – Cooking Competition was successfully held at GCT Railway Road, Lahore on 7 March 2026.

A total of 21 institutes from the Central Region (Technical & vocational stream) participated in the event, where students showcased their culinary creativity, technical skills, and professional cooking techniques. The competition provided an excellent platform for young chefs to demonstrate their talent and passion for the culinary arts.

The event was graced by Brigadier Muhammad Sajid Khokhar, SI(M) (Retd), Chairman TEVTA, as the Chief Guest, who appreciated the efforts of the participants and organizers and encouraged students to continue pursuing excellence in technical and vocational skills.

Team from GCTW Lahore, secured the 2nd position in the competition.

TEVTA Punjab Hosts Mega Job Fair 2026 —at GCT Jhang

TEVTA Punjab’s Career Division successfully organized the Mega Job Fair 2026 at Government College of Technology, Jhang, as part of its continued commitment to graduate placement. The event brought together 1,800+ registered students and 45+ leading employers from automotive, textile, engineering, food & beverage, and industrial sectors, including Hyundai Nishat Motors, Atlas Honda, IPAK, Qadri Group, Cakes & Bakes, and Safe Solution.

Over 2,500 CVs were received, resulting in 300+ on-the-spot job offers and 400+ candidates shortlisted for future opportunities. A key highlight was Hyundai Nishat Motors conducting on-site technical assessments.

The fair was inaugurated by Mr. Aamir Abrar (Director, Uniform House & Home Textile | GB Member FPCCI | Executive Member JCCI), along with Mr. Abdul Qayyum, Mr. Haider Zaidi, Mr. Imran Asghar, and Mr. Ali Noman. The event reaffirmed TEVTA’s role in aligning technical education with industry demand and creating direct employment pathways for Punjab’s skilled youth.

Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, inaugurated Creative Hands by TEVTA, the province’s first flagship youth empowerment initiative aimed at strengthening Punjab’s skills ecosystem. Addressing graduates, she emphasized that skill development, market access, and employment opportunities are key priorities beyond scholarships, with a vision to transform Punjab’s youth into a globally competitive workforce and shift from brain drain to brain gain.
The event also featured a touching moment as a student of GCTW Lahore presented a handmade shawl, symbolizing the creativity and potential of TEVTA’s skilled youth.

TEVTA Punjab at WEPX 2026 | Empowering Women Entrepreneurs ✨👩‍💼

TEVTA Punjab proudly showcased women entrepreneurship at the Women Entrepreneurial Expo (WEPX 2026), held at Expo Centre Lahore. With 11 vibrant stalls, including a Platinum Stall, TEVTA highlighted the creativity, skills, and entrepreneurial potential of its trainees.

Senior Minister Punjab Ms. Marriyum Aurangzeb, Provincial Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman, and representatives of the Women Development Department visited TEVTA stalls and appreciated the initiatives under the Creative Hands brand. Chairman TEVTA briefed the dignitaries on skill development programs aimed at economic empowerment of women across Punjab.
