Aitchison College Debating Championship

Sultan Khwajah (not to be confused by his Stanford enrolled brother), in all meanings of the word a gem. From his attendance at camp 1.5 years from now to his attendance at camp today (zero), he has shown off his immense dedication and skill. All jokes aside, Sultan is an extremely competent individual, from his tournament participation's to his consistent breaks at said tournaments (the smear campaign will never end), to then his countless hours being spent outside of offices getting proposals and documents signed (the first proposal he wrote was on Monday, yes this Monday). Really though, he is a thorough gentleman in it's essence, his level headedness and his neutral perspective on everything coupled with his ability to solve every problem is the reason why this guy is the president of the debating Society.

Introducing the President for ACDC 2023: Sultan Khawaja

Debating's very own oompa loompa, it's hard to find someone as chipper and aloof as Rafey (It's spelled Rafay) Ataullah. Widely credited with inventing the art of not breaking at tournaments, Ataullah is a trailblazer. His antics, from falling asleep in case prep to single handedly arranging a society trip to Turkey(although kaisar would disagree) have enamored us for years. You’d be surprised by how many stories he has to tell (even though he may look twelve), from 4 am parties in Kazakhstan to his many stashed away treasures including his red blazer that he “claims” to own. He can be found in Barry block, indulging in his favorite hobby of writing proposals and carrying files bigger than him. The pinnacle of a decade-long legacy of Rafay's in this society, we present our second Director-General, Rafey Ataullah.

Abdullah Qaisar is quite the popular character so we wanted to do something a little more interesting for his write up. Here is a definitive ranking of all his nicknames (that we’re making up) with explanations!

At number 4 we have Abdullah Shafique . WE had to do research for this one. He’s a cricketer. That’s pretty much it. Please bear with us it gets better
The number 3 spot goes to final-qualified Qaisar. Yes we know this isn’t the most creative but it’s sure to get him riled up. This one is referencing his innate talent of throwing all debate championship finales EXCEPT ONE (this is a necessary detail) which has irked him a lot, especially considering he doesn’t qualify very often
We’re getting close to the top now with Allawallet taking the second spot. This one requires a little bit of background. This is of course referencing his very good friend Allawal who is also known for plotting devious schemes. While we’re not entirely sure who influenced who, as far as we’re concerned both of them have been planning their lives since they were embryos.

At number 1 we have Kaisar. Realistically we’d put Allawallet at number one, but this is his event so we’ll let him have this. This is of course an ode to what his closest friends call him (Yes it's still pronounced qaisar, this a very very inside joke)

Obviously we’d like to make fun of him with you all (especially considering there’s a lot to work with), but Abdullah has only very recently cleared his name after an “incident” at a fairly popular NGO, the name of which will not be disclosed. Hence we’d like to refrain from adding fuel to the locomotives of the Muhammad Abdullah smear campaign. With that out of the way, Abdullah has spent most of his time at senior school with the debates society. Has he worked a lot? No, but he was there. Muhammad Abdullah is a lot like Gatorade, only appealing to a very small number of people. This applies to his humor as well, which is childish at best and harassment at worst. Ok yes you caught us, we are the smear campaign, but we’d still feel at least a little guilty if we didn’t mention his charismatic personality, which makes him great at sucking u- politely convincing people to join ACDC.

Cunning, sly and mischievous. All we can say about Musa Bilal is that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree (probably why he isn’t finance director). As much as we enjoy defaming blood lines, we’re also forced to mention what an integral part of the debates society he is. Oh wait we aren’t! Instead let’s talk about how he was leeching off of a certain reputable senior’s victories all throughout last year. When confronted, he will always deny such besmirching claims, but the chances of him winning that argument are close to none (especially without any senior around). As fun as this is, unfortunately his lackluster personality gives us little to write about, but his smart mouth is quite impressive, making him ideal for registrations.

Introducing the Registrations Directors for ACDC 2023: Muhammad Abdullah and Musa Bilal

Aized Khalid, general secretary of the law society, is a man of many hats. An academic stalwart, a chemistry enthusiast, an aspiring lawyer, at one point even a cowboy (we don’t talk about that) and now finally the director finance of ACDC (this is clearly the most exciting of the lot). Aized worked day in and day out to prove himself amongst his peers, culminating in the stripe: on his ti- alright maybe not that. But atleast he’s managed a position in the science so- alright maybe not that either. Jokes and positional robbery aside, Aized is the most dedicated man on the campus. With a passion for maintaining high standards for both himself and those around him, we hope he’ll be able to keep this event financially afloat as well.

General Secretary Quiz Society Ikrimah Ali(Derogatory)

Adam Hammad, the resident maulvi of Aitchison College. Adam dabbles in many sports, being a distinguished Marksmen, and a self identified squash player (Nobody knows when he plays). Be it academics or AS Level grades; nevermind. All jokes aside, Adam is a gem of a person who'll help make this ACDC a memorable event for all, that is, until you ask him about his prefectship tie ;)

Muhammad Ahmed Hayat Tarar(ararara),
everyone's local SAT tutor. Tarar is an academic powerhouse with his arguably official blue blazer and a 1510 score that he will mention a minimum of fifty times a day (he definitely didn't leak the paper). Nonetheless, it is safe to say that the powerhouse ran out of power in A1. Part of Aitchison's leade...* nevermind*.
All jokes aside, Tarar is a man, though those anger issues make us question that sometimes. Nonetheless, you'll find him to be one of the most humble and shugli people around, and he'll make sure to make this ACDC a memorable one.
