Foregrounding is the deliberate use of language to make particular words, phrases, or ideas stand out. Writers may achieve this through fronting, inversion, repetition, minor sentences, or cleft constructions.

CHOMSKY'S THEORY OF THE LAD

One of the most influential theories in Child Language Acquisition (CLA), Chomsky proposed that children are born with an innate Language Acquisition Device (LAD) containing the basic principles of language, often referred to as Universal Grammar.
