On 12th December 2025, Semester 5 students of the Department of Psychology, University of Home Economics, had the enriching opportunity to visit Fountain House, Fountain House Farooqabad , under the guidance of their esteemed faculty members, Ma’am Iram Mehboob and Sir Akram Riaz. The visit was organized to enhance students’ practical understanding of mental health rehabilitation and community support systems.

Throughout the day, students engaged in meaningful interactions with the members of Fountain House, gaining insight into their experiences, daily routines, and the therapeutic environment that supports their well-being. These real-life conversations allowed students to connect theoretical concepts with genuine human stories, deepening their empathy and professional awareness.

Overall, the visit served as a highly valuable learning experience. It not only strengthened the students’ understanding of mental health care but also emphasized the importance of compassion, respect, and active listening in the field of psychology, qualities that play a vital role in shaping future mental health professionals.

On 10th December, a seminar on the theme Happiness is the Key of Life was formally organized by the Happiness Center, UHE, and Department of Psychology, University of Home Economics, featuring Mr. Bilal Ahmed Awan, a distinguished Life Coach, as the guest speaker. The seminar aimed to highlight the psychological, emotional, and practical significance of happiness and its role in leading a balanced, purposeful, and fulfilling life.

During the seminar, Bilal Ahmad delivered an insightful and comprehensive talk on the true meaning of happiness. He explained how happiness extends beyond temporary pleasure and is closely linked to self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a positive mindset. By sharing real-life examples and practical strategies, he inspired students to adopt constructive approaches and cultivate a fulfilling outlook on life.

The session was attended by Dr. Ayesha Sarfaraz, Head of the Department of Psychology, Dr. Ayesha Khalid, Ma’am Iram Mehboob, and Dr. Quratulain Saleem, Director of Student Affairs, Dr AIza Qamar, Dr Wahab Ali Khan and students of Department of Psychology. The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating through questions, reflections, and discussions, making it a truly engaging and enlightening learning experience.
