IAP Faculty Shine at PPA’s Landmark Conference!
Institute of Applied Psychology, University of the Punjab faculty led the charge in PPA’s collaboration with Government Graduate College (W) Satellite Town, Gujranwala, for the 1st International Conference—building momentum for the 16th International Conference at Faletti’s Hotel, Lahore.
Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique, Director IAP, President PPA, delivered the keynote on “Socio-Cultural Barriers to Mental Health: Sustainable Solutions for Community Well-being.”
The event advanced mental health in schools, colleges, and universities through a panel and scientific session. Dr. Afifa Anjum, Associate Professor IAP & Finance Secretary PPA, served as Co-Chair of the scientific session.

🎓 The Institute of Applied Psychology (IAP) proudly announces the successful Public Defense of the PhD dissertation entitled “Social Networking, Deviant Peer Affiliation, Moral Disengagement, and Cyber Deviant Behaviors in Young Adults,” submitted by Ms. Sumaira Ayub, a PhD candidate in Applied Psychology, under the supervision of Dr. Mujeeba Ashraf.
The defense was examined by two esteemed external experts: Prof. Dr. Syeda Salma Hasan, Government College University Lahore, and Dr. Saima Majeed, Associate Professor of Psychology at Forman Christian College (A Chartered University).
The defense was conducted in the presence of Director IAP, Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique, along with Dr. Mujeeba Ashraf and scholars from the MS, M.Phil, and PhD programs who attended the session. Both external examiners joined the defense online and actively participated in the evaluation. A comprehensive question-and-answer session followed the presentation, during which the candidate responded thoughtfully to the queries and feedback from the examiners.
The event reflected the department’s commitment to promoting quality research and academic excellence in psychology, particularly in areas related to social networking and cyber behaviors among young adults.
Warm congratulations to Ms. Sumaira Ayub on the successful defense of her PhD dissertation and her valuable scholarly contribution. 🎉

Prof Dr Rafia Rafique, Director IAP, President Pakistan Psychological Association, returns to the University of the Punjab family after an inspiring 12-day HEC Pakistan-Sri Lanka Faculty Exchange at University of Peradeniya! 🇵🇰🇱🇰 Delivered lectures for Faculty, Students and employees, led flagship Multicultural Counselling sessions, sparked joint research on mental health trends and psychosocial determinants, contributed curriculum input, explored student exchanges, and advanced MoUs.
