As part of our World Book Day celebrations, LGS JTI Junior students supported the inspiring Alif Laila Camel Library- a unique initiative in which camels carry books to children in remote villages across Sindh and Balochistan, bringing stories and hope to communities with limited access to books. Along with books, the camel libraries also carry:
• Engaging reading materials
• Solar-powered tablets
• Trained facilitators
Junior School proudly adopted Sukoon the Camel as part of this initiative. The Alif Laila Book Bus Society will keep us connected with Sukoon throughout the year by sharing pictures and updates, allowing our students to witness the ongoing impact of their contribution. This collective effort reflects the empathy, responsibility and international-mindedness we strive to nurture within our school community.
A group of students also visited the Alif Laila Library to personally deliver the funds they raised. The visit became a joyful and meaningful learning experience, filled with engaging activities and an exploration of the innovative Techno Sawaari Bus.

National Women’s Day in Pakistan, observed on February 12, traces back to 1983, when the Pakistan Women Lawyers Association led a call to protest discriminatory laws — a call that was joined by the Women’s Action Forum (WAF) and other women’s organizations. Together, they marched for justice, equality, and the fundamental rights of women, facing resistance with extraordinary courage.
Today, the day honors that historic stand and the generations of Pakistani women who continue to challenge barriers, lead change, and shape a more equitable future.
