Sustainable Development Study Center (SDSC), Government College University Lahore, proudly hosted the PhD Final Thesis Defence of Ms. Maryam Khan and Ms. Syeda Saira Iqbal in Environmental Science. Both scholars successfully presented and defended their research before the examination committee.

The thesis defence was Evaluated by Prof. Dr. Arif Nazir, HOD, Department of Chemistry, University of Lahore and Prof. Dr. Khalid Mehmood Zia, Department of Chemistry, GCU Faisalabad.

Ms. Maryam Khan conducted her doctoral research under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Engr. Abdullah Yasar, while Ms. Syeda Saira Iqbal completed her research under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Afzaal.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Abdul-Sattar Nizami as a Co-supervisor for his invaluable support and assistance in facilitating the research work of Ms. Maryam Khan.

The Sustainable Development Study Centre (SDSC), Government College University Lahore, proudly celebrates the professional achievement of its alumnus, Muhammad Obaidullah (BS Environmental Science, Batch 2018–2022), whose journey reflects dedication to environmental science, research, and public service.
A graduate of Environmental Science from GCU Lahore, he has developed expertise in environmental assessment, GIS and spatial analysis, solid waste management, and climate-related research. His professional journey has now extended into the practical field of environmental governance and enforcement.
He is currently serving as an Environment Inspector in the Environment Protection & Climate Change Department (EP&CCD), Government of Punjab, and is performing his duties at the Office of the Deputy Director Environment, Gujranwala, where he is engaged in industrial and commercial inspections, environmental compliance monitoring, field enforcement, and identification of environmental violations.
SDSC takes pride in seeing its graduates transform academic knowledge into meaningful professional service for environmental protection and sustainable development.
