جنوبی افریقہ کے شہر جوہانسبرگ سے تعلق رکھنے والے غریب اور بے گھر شخص فیلانی نے اپنی گزر اوقات کی خاطر گداگری یا سٹریٹ کرائم جیسے مکروہ پیشوں کو اپنانے کے بجائے یہ طریقہ کار اختیار کیا کہ فیلانی پرانی کتابیں اکھٹی کرتا ہے، انہیں پڑھتا ہے پھر ایک شاہراہ پر بیٹھ کر کتابوں سے شغف رکھنے والے افراد کو ان کتب پر تبصرہ اور ان کا خلاصہ بیان کرتا ہے ۔۔۔۔

اور اس کا تبصرہ سن کر کئی لوگ کتاب کو پسند کرتے ہوئے کتاب اس سے خرید لیتے ہیں اور اس طرح اس کی گزر بسر ہوتی ہے۔۔۔۔۔
