‏نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا:

جمعہ کا دن تمہارے بہترین دنوں میں سے ہے، لہٰذا اس دن میرے اوپر کثرت سے درود ( صلاۃ ) بھیجا کرو، اس لیے کہ تمہارے درود مجھ پر پیش کئے جاتے ہیں ۔
