A Statement of Solidarity from Mercy School of Generationn
Pastor Kamran Slamat, 45, was tragically murdered on 5 December 2025 outside his home in Islam Colony, Sialkot Road, Gujranwala. The attack occurred early in the morning as Pastor Kamran prepared to take his daughter to college. At that moment, an armed and unidentified assailant approached and opened fire at close range, striking him in the right wrist, left ear, and lower abdomen. He was rushed to Civil Hospital Gujranwala, but despite urgent medical care, he succumbed to his injuries.
Eyewitnesses reported that the attacker attempted to flee immediately after the shooting. Displaying extraordinary courage, Pastor Kamran’s daughter struck the armed extremist with her father’s crutch, momentarily stopping him and forcing him to escape. Police soon arrived, collected forensic evidence, and secured CCTV footage from surrounding areas. An FIR has been registered under Section 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Pastor Kamran’s daughter identified the attacker, described as a man with a long beard. The investigation remains ongoing, and Christian communities across Pakistan are demanding justice for Pastor Kamran’s family.
This devastating incident was not the first threat to Pastor Kamran’s life. Two months earlier, he survived an extremist attack in Islamabad where he was shot in the leg. Seeking safety, he relocated his family to Gujranwala, yet he continued traveling back to Islamabad to minister to believers, refusing to abandon the call God had placed upon him. Despite multiple threats, he remained steadfast — preaching the Gospel with courage, humility, and unshakeable faith.
Pastor Kamran’s ministry extended far beyond the pulpit. He prayed for the suffering, supported persecuted families, and stood as a strong advocate for Christians enduring discrimination and violence. He served with a gentle, compassionate spirit and a shepherd’s heart, ministering to many even under the shadow of danger.
He leaves behind his wife, Salmina Kamran, and his children — Numeer, Arina, and Ariel — who now face immeasurable grief and sorrow. His martyrdom has shaken the Christian community throughout Pakistan. Believers remember him as a humble, faithful servant of Jesus Christ who continued to proclaim the Gospel boldly until his final breath.
Pastor Kamran’s life and sacrifice remain a painful reminder of the persecution many Christians still endure in Pakistan. Yet his courage, dedication, and sacrificial ministry will continue inspiring believers to stand firm in their faith and calling.
