Assalam-o-Alikum my Fellow Social Workers!
I’m excited to share my latest video with you all: *"Why Freud’s Psychosexual Theory is Outdated: Modern Psychology Explained.*"
We have all heard about Freud’s iconic theories, right? But did you know that modern psychology has moved way beyond his ideas?
In this video, I explored why Freud’s focus on sexual stages isn’t the go-to framework anymore and explore some of the amazing newer theories that are shaping psychology today.
Special thanks to my dear Dr. Nazir Hussain Chaudhry, our great senior social worker from Canada, for providing his incredible guidance in preparing this lecture! His valuable insights helped me explore these modern theories, so a big thanks to him!
I’ll walk you through how theories like Erikson’s Psychosocial Development, Piaget’s Cognitive Development, and Attachment Theory give us a much richer and scientifically backed understanding of human development. If you’ve ever wondered how psychology has evolved—or if you’re just curious about how we can use these insights to improve our work as social workers—this is for you!
I would love for you to check it out, share your thoughts, and let’s keep the conversation going. Together, we can keep learning and growing as a community!
Watch it now and let me know what you think!
Cheers,
