The research paper “Nutritional and Functional Characterization of Gluten-Free Pasta Supplemented with Vegetable By-Products” has been published in the International Journal of Food Science and Technology, a Scopus (Q1) indexed journal with an Impact Factor of 3.1.

The study explores the development of gluten-free pasta using a rice and fava bean flour matrix enriched with root vegetable by-products as functional ingredients. The findings provide a comprehensive evaluation of technological and nutritional quality while contributing to sustainable food production through the valorization of agricultural by-products.

The session featured Ghazanfar Abbas, Owner, Hicare Solutions, who shared valuable insights on halal certification frameworks, international trade dynamics, and Pakistan’s evolving role in the global halal economy. His expert perspective helped bridge industry practices with academic understanding, offering participants a comprehensive outlook on the sector.

The review paper *“Sustainable Biosecurity: Harnessing Natural Sanitisers for Hatching Egg Sanitation”* has been published in the *World's Poultry Science Journal*, a Scopus (Q1) indexed journal with an Impact Factor of 3.5.

The review highlights the potential of natural sanitisers, including plant extracts and organic acids, as sustainable alternatives to synthetic disinfectants for hatching egg sanitation. These biodegradable solutions effectively reduce eggshell pathogens while maintaining hatchability, improving biosecurity, and enhancing chick quality. The study also emphasizes the need for further research to standardize commercial applications and ensure cost-effectiveness for large-scale industry adoption.

The research paper “Potential Application of NADPH-Dependent FMN Reductase-Harboring Delftia Acidovorans in Laboratory-Scale Textile Wastewater Treatment and Re-Use” has been published in Water, Air, and Soil Pollution, a Scopus (Q2) indexed journal with an Impact Factor of 3.0.

The study demonstrates that Delftia acidovorans harboring NADPH-dependent FMN reductase can efficiently degrade textile dyes in laboratory-scale wastewater. The treated water exhibited a significant reduction in chemical oxygen demand (COD) and color intensity, highlighting the bacterium’s potential as an eco-friendly and sustainable solution for textile wastewater treatment and water reuse.

The research paper “Assessment of a novel antifungal ionic liquid-mediated silicone denture base soft liner” has been published in Frontiers in Dental Medicine, a Scopus (Q1) indexed journal with an Impact Factor of 1.8.

The study developed a novel silicone denture liner using choline borate ionic liquid, demonstrating enhanced antifungal activity against Candida albicans, improved biocompatibility, and clinically acceptable mechanical properties. The findings highlight its potential as a bioactive solution for reducing denture stomatitis while maintaining material performance standards.
