یہ کہانی تو آپ نے بچپن میں ضرور پڑھی ہوگی کہ ایک بھیڑیا پانی پی رہا تھا ۔ نیچے چشمہ کے کنارے اسے ایک میمنہ نظر آیا ۔ بھیڑئیے کا دل للچایا کہ میمنہ کو چھیر پھاڑ کر تر نوالہ بنا لوں۔ اسے کسی بہانے کی ضرورت تھی ۔ اس نے بآواز بلند میمنہ کو پکارا ، پانی گدلا مت کرو۔ میمنہ نے جواب دیا۔ انکل ! پانی تو آپ کی طرف سے آرہا ہے۔ اب بھیڑئیے نے پینترا بدلا۔ تم پچھلے سال مجھے گالی دے کر چھپ گئے تھے۔
انکل! میری تو کل عمر چھ ماہ ہے۔ وہ کوئی اور ہوگا۔ بھیڑیا اس پر جھپٹ پڑا ۔ بد تمیز تمہیں والدین نے ادب نہیں سکھائی ۔ بڑوں کے ساتھ بحث کرتے ہو۔
لو بھئ کہانی ختم !
جب آپ ایم اے اور ایم فل پاس امیدواروں کو اس کہانی سے لیکچر کی ابتدا کرتے ہیں ، وہ اپنی کاپیاں بند اور قلم میز پر رکھ دیتے ہیں کہ آج کے تین گھنٹے پھر ضائع ہو گئے۔
جی ہاں، اس کے باوجود میں یہ کہانی اپنے ہر لیکچر کے آغاز میں بلا ناغہ سناتا ہوں۔

ایک وبا پھیل چکی ہے ۔ CSS کا امتحان ، سب گپ شپ ہے۔ جرنیلوں ، سیکریٹریوں، اور وزیروں کی چہیتی اولاد کو اعلیٰ عہدوں پر لانے کے لئے یہ ایک ڈرامہ ہے۔
امتحان ابھی شروع نہیں ہوا ہے اور ہتھیار ڈال دیتے ہیں. اس مائنڈ سیٹ کے خلاف جو بھی آپ دلیل دیں، بھیڑئیے کی طرح وہ رد کر دیا جائے گا ۔ کیونکہ مقصد تو اپنی ناکامی کے لئے کسی توجیہہ کی تلاش ہے۔
یہاں سے میں اپنی پٹڑی تبدیل کرلیتا ہوں۔

آپ ایک بات سمجھ لیں ۔ یہ مقابلے کا امتحان ہے۔ بارہ ہزار درخواستیں آتی ہیں۔ بمشکل دو سو امید واروں کا انتخاب ہوتا ہے۔ آپ کوئی سا بھی معیار رکھ دیں – جانچ پڑتال کا کوئ بھی پیمانہ مقرر کریں ۔
رشوت سے امیدوار پاس کئے جاتے ہیں - بالکل درست ، مگر کیا تعداد دو صد سے بڑھ جائے گی ؟ جب کہ اس ملک میں ایسے افراد موجود ہیں جو کہ لاکھوں روپے ایک ماڈل کی عشوہ طرازیوں پر ایک ہی نشست میں نچھاور کر لیتے ہیں۔
رشوت نہیں ، سفارش سے کام چلتا ہے۔ بالکل ٹھیک- اس قبائلی معاشرے اور لولی لنگڑی جمہوریت میں وہ کون کم بخت ہوگا جس کی صدر، وزیر اعظم یا آرمی چیف تک رسائی براہ راست یا بلواسطہ نہ ہو۔
ایک تیسرا رخ بھی دیکھتے ہیں ۔ امتحان میں سارے افلاطون، ارسطو، نیوٹن اور آئن سٹائن شریک ہوتے ہیں ۔ سب کے سب سو فی صد نمبر لے لیتے ہیں تو کیا منتخب امیدواروں کی تعداد دو صد سے بڑھ جائے گی ؟

سوال یہ پیدا ہوتا ہے کہ جو منتخب نہیں ہوئے کیا وہ نالائق ہیں ؟ سو میں سے سو یا نوے نمبر لینے والے کو کوئی احمق ہی نالائق کہہ سکتا ہے ۔ ایک اور بات کا ذکر کر دوں . امریکہ کی مشہور یونیورسٹیاں تمام کلاس کے نتیجے کو سامنے رکھ کر اے پلس A Plus کا فیصلہ کرتی ہیں۔ میں نے پہلے سمسٹر کے ایک پرچے میں سو کے سو نمبر لئے۔ اے پلس نہیں ملا۔ جبکہ تین دوسرے طالب علموں کو اے پلس دیا گیا تھا۔ میں نے پروفیسر سے وجہ پوچھی ۔ جواب ملا - آپ نے سارے درسی جوابات دئیے ہیں ۔ اپنی طرف سے کوئی نئی بات نہیں کی ہے -

CSS
کے تمام امیدواروں کو ایک لمبا چوڑا فارم بھرنا پڑتا ہے۔ جس میں ان کا سارا کچا چٹھا سامنے آ جاتا ہے۔ باقی تفصیلات ساتھ ساتھ آتی رہتی ہیں ۔ یہاں تک کہ انٹرویو سے پہلے ان کے پورے خاندان کا شجرہ نسب ، تعلیمی رو داد ، آمدن اور آمدن کے وسائل، پسندیدہ کتب ، شخصیات ، غیر نصابی سرگرمیاں وغیرہ ریکارڈ کا حصہ بن جاتے ہیں۔

ایک سادہ سی بات ہے ۔ پچھلے دس سال کا ریکارڈ اٹھا لیں ۔ جو پہلے دس امیدوار ہیں ان کی چھانٹی کریں ۔ ان میں سے کون کون کسی جرنیل، سیکرٹری یا وزیر کا بیٹا ہے؟ ( بیٹی ہے؟ )
اس سال جو دو سو امیدوار منتخب ہوئے ہیں ان میں سے کتنے اس مراعات یافتہ طبقے کے چشم و چراغ ہیں ؟ جب آپ یہ اعداد و شمار جمع کرتے ہیں تو وہ تعداد بھی گن لیں جن کا تعلق ان خاندانوں سے تھا اور وہ کامیاب نہیں ہؤے ۔

یہاں پہنچ کر میرے حاضرین سوچ میں پڑ جاتے ہیں۔ اپنے نوٹ بک کھول لیتے ہیں اور کچھ لکھنا شروع کر دیتے ہیں ۔ لیکچر کے ختم ہونے سے پہلے میں ایک اور تلخ حقیقت کی طرف اشارہ کر لیتا ہوں ۔
میں نہیں چاہتا کہ آپ خوابوں کی دنیا میں رہیں اور حقائق سے منہ چھپائیں ۔ اگر شتر مرغ آنکھیں بند کر لیتا ہے تو آندھیاں رخ تبدیل نہیں کر لیتیں ۔ اس وقت ہال میں اسی امیدوارموجود ہیں۔ آپ میں سے کتنے افراد نے ڈاکٹر اور انجنیئر بننے کا سوچا تھا ۔ وہاں کامیابی نہ ملی تو دوسرے شعبوں کی طرف نکل پڑے ۔
CSS
کا امتحان تو آپ کے لئے مقابلے کا پہلا امتحان نہیں ۔ اب تو نویں جماعت سے بورڈ کے امتحان شروع ہو جاتے ہیں اور ماسٹرز یا پروفیشنل ڈگری کے حصول تک جاری رہتے ہیں۔ آپ میں سے کتنے افراد نے بورڈ یا یونیورسٹی میں ٹاپ کیا تھا؟ گولڈ میڈل حاصل کیا تھا ؟ رشوت، سفارش اور اقربا پروری اس معاشرے کے ناسور ہیں مگر اس کا مطلب یہ بھی نہیں کہ اپنے دامن کو دیکھنا چھوڑ دیں۔

زندگی ایک شاہراہ ہے۔ اس میں کامیابیوں کے کئی راستے ہیں۔ CSS اس وسیع و عریض موٹر وے کی صرف ایک لین ہے ۔ آپ کو جہاں موقع ملتا ہے اس میدان میں آگے بڑھنے کی کوشش کریں۔ ان لوگوں کی طرح نہ بنیں جو اپنی ناکامیوں کےلئے جواز ڈھونڈتے ہیں ۔ میں اس موضوع پر وقتاً فوقتاً لکھتا رہوں گا ۔ ان شاء الله

آج کا مضمون اس یتیم خاتون انکم ٹیکس آفیسر کے نام ہے جس کی والدہ پرائے گھروں میں برتن مانجھ کر اس کو پڑھاتی رہی ۔ فارن سروس کے اس نوجوان کے نام ہے جو بندرگاہ پرکنٹینر گنا کرتا تھا اور جس کے والدین کو آخر دم تک یہ سمجھ نہیں آئی کہ جب گاؤں میں ماسٹر کی نوکری خالی ہے تو اس کو بیرون ملک حکومت ملازمت کے لئے کیوں بھیج رہی ہے ؟ بلوچستان کے اس غیور پاکستان ایڈمنسٹریٹیو سروس کے افسر کےنام جو اخبار بیچ کر امتحان کی فیس جمع کرتا تھا۔ والسلام

زندگی کے امتحانات نے آپ کو آج جس مقام پر کھڑا کر دیا ہے، وہ آسان نہیں۔ شاید ہر پل آپ کے لیے کسی نئے چیلنج کی طرح آتا ہے، اور ایسا لگتا ہے کہ آپ کے حوصلے کمزور پڑنے لگے ہیں۔ لیکن یاد رکھیں، ہر سیاہ رات کے بعد صبح کا اجالا ضرور طلوع ہوتا ہے۔ آپ کے اندر وہ طاقت ہے جو چٹانوں کو بھی چیر سکتی ہے، بس خود پر یقین کیجئے۔

A letter to those who are struggling. ✨

I know things have been difficult lately, and it might feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders. Perhaps no one has told you just how strong you truly are, how capable you are of pushing through, even when it feels impossible. But no matter what has happened, your struggles will not go in vain. Every tear, every sleepless night, every moment of doubt is shaping you into someone resilient, someone who can rise above it all.

One day, you will look back and see that along the way, you were not just surviving; you were growing. You were becoming stronger, wiser, and more compassionate. You were becoming the person you were always meant to be—someone who can face any storm with grace and courage. So keep going, even when it feels like you can’t. You are more powerful than you know, and your journey is leading you to a beautiful destination.

To all the aspirants out there looking for motivation...

- I remember it was the month of ramazan in 2016 when i was in final year MBBS.I dont know from where it came to my mind that I want to do CSS.It was a sign of universe or what,Idon’t know.That was it.I knew where I want to go.My life suddenly had a meaning.My final prof was due in january so i prepared for that.My last prof was the one in which I studied so hard just because I knew if i had a supply it would hinder my journey towards my dream and I had to continue my trend of clearing all my exams in my first attempt.There it was, I scored really well in the final prof.It was 24th of feb 2017 when i shifted to an isolated corner of my house and started my study.It was tough.Waking up at 5 in the morning was tough.Studying till 3 at night was tougher but a fire was burning inside me and that kept me going.I went on struggling.There were days when I felt tired,my fingertips burned because of continuous writing,my legs felt paralyzed because of continuous sitting but I kept on going.Yes there were times when the scars on my fingertips didn’t allow me to hold a chapati and my mom used to break the chapati into pieces to make it easy for me.My sofa on which i sat for study has grown old,one can even feel the floor while sitting on it.Once i had a rash on my back because i used to sit without an ac in the afternoons so that i dont fall asleep in the cool atmosphere.And the mocks,my feet swell because of continuous sitting.I used to write an essay,a precis and one paper each day and got them checked and seriously my teachers were real strict.At first my whole writings got crossed but I tried and tried and never lost hope.Some days I could sleep for just 2 hours which reddened my eyes.Facebook,twitter,instagram,whtsapp,snapchat even mobile,i had forgotten all of these.And when the Us history paper was tough I had tears in my eyes and I just said one thing to Allah,I have not studied for this exam,I have worshipped for this and I need a reward for my worship.And that was it He answered my prayers and made me the 12th position holder in CSS 2018.When i look back and remember all those days I smile and just say to myself that,”Ayesha, it was worth it”.
