The Department of Media and Communication Studies, SALU successfully organised the Photography Exhibition, a work of students guided by teachers.
Prof Dr Ghulam Mustafa Mashori, the look after Vice Chancellor, inaugurated the event along with Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof Dr Amir Khuhro.
Thanks to all friends and faculty members for gracing the event and making it a vibrant one.
I would extend my felicitations to all who presented their work diligently and to fellow teachers who supervised students specially Mr Farhan Sarwar.

76TH INDEPENDENCE DAY COMMEMORATED AT SHAH ABDUL LATIF UNIVERSITY

The 76th Independence Day of Pakistan was commemorated at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur in befitting manner with national fervor, zeal, zest and national spirit. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor hoisted the National Flag at Central Lawn of University.

Talking to the participants, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto remarked that I extend my heartiest felicitation to my Countrymen, Faculty Members, Officers, Employees and Students on the promising occasion of 76th Independence Day of Pakistan. He said the day is being commemorated when the Muslims of Sub-Continent achieved independence and a new state Pakistan emerged on the horizon of the world map as a sovereign state following the termination of the British Raj in August of 1947. With the firm commitment, devotion, courage and faith, the oppressed Muslims residing in the Sub-Continent were successful in actualizing their dream of freedom for their separate homeland and political entity.

Dr. Ibupoto maintained that the Independence Day of Pakistan is the outcome of the unwavering struggle of the Muslim Leaders of the Sub-Continent for separate homeland. Thousands of Muslims scarified their precious lives for the establishment of separate country. It is high time to fight against illiteracy, intolerance, militancy, extremism, poverty, hunger and other social evils with the help of quality education, research, youth development, women empowerment, economic progress of the country as well as for inclusiveness of peace, sustainable democracy, constitutionalism and promotion of essence of tolerant society. Moreover, we have to promote the sense of veneration to prime institutions of the country because these institutions are symbolic of national integrity and cohesion.

Dr. Ibupoto said It is matter of immense pleasure and rejoices that Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur as third largest premier Public Sector University of Sindh is rendering its academic, research and community service at large.

The Vice Chancellor opined that I am optimistic that in the capacity of the Vice Chancellor of this Alma mater along with my team will work with utmost devotion and enthusiasm for the promotion of academic excellence, research development and innovation and University will emerge academically better at national and international level. Since, we are committed for the capacity building of the youth and academia as well.

Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Siraj Ahmed Soomro, Chairman Department of Pakistan Studies also shed light on the struggle of Muslims Leaders for the cause of freedom. They said that it is the need of the time to shun the differences on the basis of color, creed, ethnic and other basis for the national integration and to strengthen the state institution.

The Children of Model School presented tableaus. The Students of Music Society performed national songs. Tug of War among the employees was also held wherein the cultural sports Malh was also played. The Vice Chancellor gave away the cash prizes among the winners. The Tree Plantation Drive was launched where the Vice Chancellor, Deans, Registrar and Sectional Heads planted the saplings of indigenous trees. The Cake Cutting Ceremony was also performed and Sweets were distributed among the participants.

AWARENESS ON BIRTH REGISTRATION AND BIRTH CERTIFICATE DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY

Awareness Program on Birth Registration and Birth Certificate Distribution Ceremony was held at Students Societies Center Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur. The event was organized by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Collaboration with United Nations International Childrens Emergency Fund (UNICEF). Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur presided over the ceremony while Mir Rohal Khan Khoso SSP Khairpur was the Chief Guest. Wherein, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Prof. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari, Registrar were the Guest of Honor.
Mir Rohal Khan Khoso said that it is honor for me to address at this prestigious Institution. The work of the IRC and Shah Abdul Latif University is marvelous for the community. He said the accurate birth record helps in the census as result the people of the Khairpur will avail the basic facilities. He remarked that in the advent of Flood havoc the people of the Khairpur suffered in miserable conditions, the plight of the people was very adverse. He said we corporate with the National Disaster Management Authority for their security as well as security of the flood affected people. He appreciated the untiring efforts of Vice Chancellor for the academic development and Co curricular activities.
Mr. Adeel Ahmed Shaikh Project Manager IRC briefed that more than 3000 children have been registered and availed the Birth certificates in the flood hit areas of the Khairpur District. Currently 40 multipurpose projects are under way. He said we are also working on child protection and gender based violence. IRC provided Cash assistance 13000+ beneficiaries distributed 5000+ winterization Kits in flood affected areas.
Dr. Ali Raza Lashari conducted the proceeding of the ceremony and also shed light on the significance of birth registration.
The shields and Ajraks were presented to the Guests.

Students of Music Society are auditioning for All Pakistan Music Contest which is organized by Radio Pakistan. Dean Faculty of Social Science Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari and In-charge Students Society Center Dr. Ali Raza Lashari are also present in the audition. A large number of students were there to audition.

(6.6.2023) In the Students Societies Center A debate on “Artificial Intelligence: Its Positive and Negative Impacts on Society” was organized by the Young Peace Development Corp. (YPDC), Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur Chapter.
Prof Dr Taj Lashari Dean faculty of Social Sciences presided over and Prof Dr Mehoon khan Laghari was the Chief Guest of the Event.

Prof. Dr. Riaz Ahmed Shaikh , Prof. Dr. Abdullah Maitlo and Mir Abdul Faiq Talpur were the judges of the debate. Mr. Abdul Razaaque and others were the winners while Mr. Zeeshan and others were the runners of the debate. Dr. Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, Ms. Shumaila Rabab Rizvi and a larger number of students attended the debate.
