During Students’ Week 2026, the Institute of Microbiology actively and enthusiastically participated in a wide range of university-level competitions and co-curricular activities, demonstrating outstanding academic, cultural, and athletic excellence. The Institute secured first positions in Tug of War (Girls), Throw Ball (Girls), Table Tennis (Boys), and Naat, while achieving second positions in Badminton (Girls) and Tug of War (Boys). In addition to competitive events, the Institute ensured strong representation in various academic and creative activities, including stalls, documentaries, posters, models, singing, debates, Naat, Qirat, quizzes, speeches, cultural exhibitions, expert lectures, and sports events. These diverse engagements reflected the Institute’s commitment to holistic student development, teamwork, and leadership. To acknowledge and encourage student efforts, the Institute proudly distributed appreciation certificates among all participants, recognizing their dedication, talent, and active involvement throughout Students’ Week 2026.

Students and faculty of the Institute of Microbiology participated in the 7th International Conference on Emerging Trends in Bioinformatics & Biosciences (ICETBB-2025) at Hazara University, Mansehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The students actively participated in the poster presentation competition, where they presented their research work and secured First position, achieving a shield along with a cash prize. 🥇🏆
Furthermore, Dr. Anwar Hussain Phulpoto and Dr. Majid Ali Maitlo showcased their research through oral presentations, actively contributing to academic dialogue at the conference.
The academic journey was further enriched by visits to Mushkpuri Top for hiking, Nathia Gali, Abbottabad, and Siran Valley, making the trip enriching and remarkable. 🏔️

Students of the Institute of Microbiology, along with faculty members, participated in the 15th International Biennial Conference of the Pakistan Society for Microbiology (FIBC-PSM 2025) held from April 15–18, 2025 at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. The conference offered valuable exposure to recent advances in microbiology through scientific sessions, research presentations, and interactions with international experts.
The journey was made even more memorable with a visit to the beautiful northern areas of Pakistan, providing students with cultural exposure, blending academic excellence with cultural and natural exploration. 🌿📚✨

Students Week 2025 at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur🎓✨ was a vibrant and memorable celebration of talent, learning, and unity. The week-long event was filled with energy and enthusiasm, providing a dynamic platform for students to showcase their academic excellence, scientific curiosity, and creative skills.💡👏
Students of the Institute of Microbiology played an active and commendable role by participating in a wide range of activities, including poster presentations, model displays, sports events, singing competitions, quizzes, speeches, and tableaux.
A special highlight of the week was the establishment of an Antibiotic Resistance Awareness Desk, aimed at educating students and visitors about the responsible use of antibiotics and the growing global challenge of antimicrobial resistance. In addition, the Institute organized a free microbial screening camp, reflecting its commitment to community service and public health awareness.
Further enriching the event were guest speaker sessions and panel discussions
It was a week of pride, learning, and unity leaving lasting impressions and unforgettable memories.
