We continue to build on our legacy through contributions to the globally recognized open chip architecture, 𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐂-𝐕 . This marks our 5th consecutive selection since 2021, proudly representing Pakistan on an international stage.
Over the years, MERL-UIT has consistently worked to strengthen its presence in the global semiconductor ecosystem pushing forward innovation, research, and open-source development.

We’re excited to share that our project has been accepted for LFX Summer 2026 and is now open to applications from talented individuals around the world.

Mock Evaluation for PEC & NCEAC Re-Accreditation

On April 17, 2026, UIT University conducted a comprehensive mock evaluation in preparation for the upcoming PEC (Electrical Engineering) and NCEAC (Computer Science & Software Engineering) re-accreditation visits.

The review was led by Muhammad Faisal Khan, who assessed institutional compliance, documentation, and overall readiness. The Chairperson of Electrical Engineering presented the program’s Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework, followed by a detailed campus and facilities tour.

This exercise highlighted the University’s key strengths while identifying areas for further refinement, reinforcing UIT’s commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement ahead of the formal accreditation reviews.

UIT University hosted the Open House of Clubs and Societies on 16 April 2026 at the Main Foyer. The event provided students with an exciting platform to explore a wide range of clubs, connect with their peers, and discover new opportunities for co-curricular and extracurricular growth.

Youth Innovation Challenge 2026 (YIC-2026) Roadshow at UIT

UIT successfully hosted the Youth Innovation Challenge 2026 (YIC-2026) Roadshow & Fellowship Programme on 15 April 2026 at the UIT Auditorium, inspiring students to explore opportunities in innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

Our distinguished guests, Muhammad Mahad Arif (CEO, Youth Innovation Challenge Program & Advisory Member to the Prime Minister’s National Youth Council), Muhammad Talha Saleem (Advisory Member, Prime Minister’s National Youth Council & Head of Programs, Prime Minister Youth Programme Sindh), and Sarim Sheikh (Brand Manager, Shangrila Foods Pvt. Ltd.), shared insights into the fully funded fellowship programme, offering mentorship, training, funding opportunities, and national exposure.

As a Higher Education Institution (HEI), UIT University firmly believes that proper counseling is essential in helping students select the right academic program.

We recently put this core philosophy into practice at the Education Expo held at The Avicenna School. The department had the privilege of welcoming Syed Wajahat Ali, Senior Manager HR at Rajby Industries, as the guest speaker. The session explored how AI is transforming the way organizations train, develop, and empower talent to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

Students gained valuable industry insights, discovered emerging trends, and engaged in an interactive discussion with an experienced HR professional.
