Today we are celebrating 15 years of AMI Daycare & Learning Centre! For a decade and a half, we have remained dedicated to building the essential systems and childcare infrastructure that allow our community to work, grow, and stay connected. By providing a dependable foundation for parents, we’re proud to play a small but vital role in the social health and independence of our community.

What if you had your own little light source, a few colours, and endless shapes to play with? ✨

Our little learners explored just that with light tables and it’s quickly become a favourite. Through this kind of play, children observe closely, follow their curiosity, and experiment with cause and effect. At the same time, they strengthen hand–eye coordination, build fine motor skills, and learn to think creatively about what they see - we all have played around with shadow theatre, haven’t we? 🔦⛺️

This is also why we champion play as a source of learning. When it is thoughtfully designed, it is an incredible way to explore new concepts without being forced into it or making it a chore. If you reframe it a bit, every activity can be a lesson plan.

While it may look like simple fun, pretend play is where meaningful learning begins. Through imagination and role-play, children explore emotions, build confidence, practice communication, and learn how to interact with the world around them. 🫖🧁📚

Fostering holistic development through cognitive functions, language growth and fine motor skills, pretend play helps nurture creativity, empathy, and early social-emotional skills - all while children do what they do best: play, discover, and imagine. 💛

As we mark 43 years of The AMI School, we find ourselves caught between two co-existing realities. We would like to hold space for the joy and celebration our students and staff eagerly look forward to each year, and yet we must also acknowledge their concerns, anxieties and open dialogue pertaining to the the ongoing state of global affairs.

Today, we can’t help but reflect upon a panel discussion hosted at , about how the future is circular and how an individuals’ action influences a future which returns to them and the generations to follow. As a community, are we leaving behind sustainable practices with a secure future, or are we sowing the seeds for uncertainty amongst our youth?

Taking its root from Beginner's Montessori in 1983 to introducing multiple brands under EWPL, our goal was simple: to give back to our community through education. Starting with the introduction of AMI Daycare & Learning Centre, Kiva School, and Paar - A Life-readiness Program for individuals with special educational needs. Naturally, we feel a deep sense of gratitude toward our teams, partners, students and parents, with whom we have grown exponentially over the years.

However, this feeling of gratitude does not exist in silo. We recognise the importance of coming together at this time and not losing sight of what the community truly needs; a safe space to express, a hand to hold, an ear to listen and a warm embrace to comfort a community in pain.

We are with our community at this time. 💛
