Week 2 of our Mums & Tots programme unfolded through a vibrant world of colour, sensory exploration, and hands-on discovery.

With All About Colours as our focus, our little learners explored Rainbow Match-Up – Colour Sorting, where they matched, identified, and organised colours while strengthening visual discrimination, concentration, and early cognitive skills.

The exploration continued with Squish, Smash & Paint-a sensory-rich experience that invited toddlers to interact with colour through touch, movement, and mark-making. Along the way, they strengthened fine motor control, hand-eye coordination, sensory awareness, and their confidence to explore independently.

With mothers alongside, our toddlers transformed simple experiences into meaningful opportunities for learning, interaction, and discovery; making Week 2 a vibrant continuation of their Mums & Tots experience.

Pre-Nursery | Outdoor Learning

Learning doesn’t always need a desk or a classroom. Our Pre-Nursery learners took their learning outdoors through an 'I Spy' exploratory station, reinforcing the phonemes *s and a* as they identified relevant objects, connected sounds with vocabulary, and expanded their understanding through hands-on discovery.

The outdoor setup extended their learning through purposeful experiences from painting familiar vocabulary to a churros-crushing activity that strengthened hand control, followed by pre-writing practice designed to develop coordination, control, and readiness for early writing. Each station offered an opportunity to revisit learning in a more experiential way.

At Academus, outdoor learning is thoughtfully designed to nurture emerging skills while allowing children to explore, practise, and make meaningful connections through play.

Literacy begins with exploration, meaningful experiences, and a love for stories.

Our Young Learners of Kindergarten enjoyed a special story time featuring Goldilocks and the Three Bears, followed by engaging activity stations focused on building CVC words, sorting by size, and counting with bear manipulatives.

Each playful activity helped strengthen early literacy, numeracy, language, and thinking skills building a strong foundation for lifelong learning, one experience at a time.

For young children, literacy begins with stories, curiosity, and meaningful experiences.

This International Literacy Day, our Young Learners of Nursery explored the famous story The Very Hungry Caterpillar while discovering the days of the week, fruit names, quantities, sequencing, high-frequency words, and numbers 1–10.

Through engaging activities and sensory exploration, children strengthened early literacy, numeracy, language, and thinking skills in a joyful way.

Because when learning feels meaningful, curiosity turns into a love for learning.
