انکے چہروں پہ مسافت کے نشاں ہوتے ہیں ۔
جن کی قسمت میں کرا ئے کے مکاں ہوتے ہیں

کون آنکھوں میں چھپے کرب کو پڑھتا ہوگا ۔
لوگ اتنے بھی سمجھ دار کہاں ہوتے ہیں ۔

وقت کے ساتھ اترتی ہیں نقابیں ساری ۔
ہوتے ہوتے ہی کئی راز عیاں ہوتے ہیں ۔

تم نے سوچا ھے کبھی تم سے بچھڑ نے والے
کیسے جلتے ہیں شب و روز دھواں ہوتے ہیں ۔

دور ساحل سے سمندر نہیں ناپا جاتا
درد لفظوں میں بھلا کیسے بیاں ہوتے ہیں ؟

پھول کھلتے ہیں نہ موسم کا اثر ہوتا ہے
ہم بہاروں میں بھی تصویر ِ خزاں ہوتے ہیں ۔

میں نے ٹکڑوں میں بٹی آج بھی دیکھی عورت ۔
روح ہوتی ہی نہیں جسم جہاں ہوتے ہیں ۔۔
