More than 120 School Safeguarding Focal Points and Counsellors from Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral participated in two-day Safeguarding Capacity-Building Training delivered across three training slots., strengthening their knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to recognise, prevent, report, and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.

The participation of Mr Imtiaz Momin, CEO, AKES, Pakistan, and members of the Senior Management Team on Day One reinforced the organisation's strong leadership commitment to safeguarding and to ensuring the safety, dignity, and well-being of every child and individual within the school community.

The training was collaboratively developed and facilitated by Ms Shaista Tejany, Director, Safeguarding Portfolio; Ms Anisa Dar, Global Safeguarding Lead; Ms Salma Bano, Country Safeguarding Lead; and Ms Shams-un-Nisa, Regional HR Senior Manager, Gilgit-Baltistan.

Safeguarding is more than a policy; it is a shared commitment and collective responsibility. Together, we are strengthening safeguarding systems and fostering school communities where everyone feels safe, respected, heard, and protected.

Students and teachers of Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Gilgit came together to honour Mr Jahangir Shah as he concluded 27 years of dedicated service (1999–2026) at the school.

From the early days when the school operated from a rented building and Mr Jahangir accompanied around 40 students to and from Shah Karim Hostel each day, his role grew far beyond that of a Physical Education Instructor. He became a trusted teacher, mentor, guardian, and role model, supporting generations of students with care, guidance, and encouragement.

Over the years, he helped countless young people develop discipline, confidence, resilience, teamwork, and a strong sense of responsibility. Many former students, now contributing across Pakistan and around the world, continue to make time to meet him whenever they return to Gilgit—a testament to the lasting impact of his service.

As Mr Jahangir moves to Diamond Jubilee High School Ayeshi, Ghizer, to continue the next chapter of his professional journey, the AKHSS Gilgit community bids him a heartfelt farewell with deep appreciation and gratitude.

A teacher's legacy lives on in the lives they touch and the values they instil.

Thank you, Sir Jahangir, for 27 years of sincere service, care, and dedication. Your legacy will always remain a valued part of the AKHSS Gilgit story.

AKHSS, Chitral proudly celebrates the selection of its Physics teacher, Mr Muhammad Akbar, for the prestigious CERN International Teacher’s Week 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland. 🌍🔬

The programme brings together science educators from around the world to explore cutting-edge particle physics research, innovative STEM teaching approaches, and inquiry-based learning at CERN.

This international exposure will further strengthen science teaching at AKES, Pakistan, helping bring new ideas and practices into the classroom and inspiring students to explore STEM with curiosity and confidence.

Congratulations to Iyad Ali, Grade 6 student at Aga Khan School, Murtazabad on winning a Silver Medal in Mathematics at the International World Innovative Student Exhibition (IWISE) in London! 🥈🌍

This marks Iyad's second international mathematics achievement, following another Silver Medal in a global competition in Singapore last year.

His dedication, talent, and passion for mathematics continue to inspire young learners across Gilgit-Baltistan. Congratulations, Iyad, and best wishes for continued success! 🌟📐
