Why do Arabic letters change shape inside a word?
Arabic letters are not always written in exactly the same form.
Their shape can change depending on whether they appear at the beginning, middle, or end of a word.
In this lesson, we explore the different forms of Alif, Bā, and Tā:
🔹 Alif (ا) usually connects to the letter before it but does not connect to the letter after it.
🔹 Bā (ب) can connect from both sides when it appears at the beginning or middle of a word.
🔹 Tā (ت) also changes its shape according to its position in the word.
For example, the shape and connection of a letter can look different in words such as بيت, جبل, عنب, تفاح, and زيت.
