Trees play an important role in ecosystem by maintaining ecological balance. A Tree-Plantation campaign has been launched at National Textile University, Karachi Campus on July 17, 2019. It was initiated by honorable Director Campus, Prof. Dr. Khalid Pasha and Mr. Mubeen Ahmed, Lecturer, Department of Polymer Engineering. The tree-plantation campaign was run and managed successfully with the help of faculty and staff members of campus. Students also actively participated in tree-plantation campaign and played an important role in making this campaign successful.

Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), NTU, Karachi Campus has organised a refresher workshop on Role and Responsibilities of a Teacher for the Implementation of Outcome Based Education (OBE) System on July 02, 2019. Engr. Muhammad Faizan Aslam, Lecturer Department of Polymer Engineering, NTU, Karachi Campus was the Resource Person. This workshop was attended by the faculty members and lab. staff of both Department of Polymer Engineering and Department of Textile & Clothing.

Department of Textile and Clothing, NTU, Karachi Campus has arranged an industrial visit on June 26, 2019 to Artistic Milliner, Karachi. It is a vertical denim manufacturing company which was established in 1949 with a strong focus on women empowerment, innovation and sustainability. Faculty members Ms. Zarqa Shahzadi (Lecturer) and Mr. Nafees (Lab Engineer) along with students of 4th semester of Department of Textile and Clothing have visited Artistic Milliner. Senior management and technical staff members of Artistic Milliner warmly welcomed the visiting groups members of NTU Karachi Campus. Students were given a detailed introduction of Artistic Milliner and visited all the departments of Mill and learned various processes involved in denim manufacturing.

Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is a Korean governmental organization for Official Development Assistance (ODA) to enhance the effectiveness of South Korea's grant aid programs for developing countries by implementing the government's grant aid and technical cooperation programs. On June 14, 2019, KOICA team visited Department of Textile & Clothing, National Textile University, Karachi Campus. KOICA team was welcomed by Professor Dr. Khalid Pasha, Director Karachi Campus, Dr. Muhammad Qamar Khan, Chairman of Textile & Clothing and Dr. Rashid Masood, Project coordinator. In meeting in office of Director Karachi Campus, KOICA team briefed about utilization of KOICA project and the upgradation of PKGTI project to “degree/engineering program”.
After the meeting KOICA team visited the department and took interest in equipment available in Department of textile and clothing. At the end KOICA team appreciated the efforts of National Textile University, Karachi Campus for utilizing the laboratory equipment given by KOICA for the overall benefit of students.

Department of Polymer Engineering, National Textile University, Karachi Campus has organised a workshop on 'Conducting Polymers'. It was held on June 19, 2019 (Wednesday). The Resource Person/Guest Speaker was Dr. Moheb Reza Kazmi. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Chemistry, University of Karachi. He was invited by the Department of Polymer Engineering, NTU-KC to deliver a lecture on Conductive Polymers. Dr. Kazmi has been working on Conductive Polymers for many years. He enlightened the students about the importance of creating such polymeric composites in addition to their potential applications. Furthermore, Dr. Syed Saqib Shams (Chairman of the Department of Polymer Engineering) and Dr. Moheb Reza Kazmi discussed and mutually agreed the possibility of future research collaborations in this research area.
