Kim Jong Un oversaw cruise missile launches from North Korea’s first destroyer, the Choe Hyon, on Wednesday - the latest test before the warship’s commissioning, state media reported. Kim also boarded the “nuclear armed” vessel for navigation tests and demanded his navy build two warships of this class or higher per year, aiming to possess at least 12 large new warships by 2030.
A map on the table in front of Kim aboard the ship appeared to show U.S. bases in the Pacific, according to NK News analysis.
South Korea’s military said it detected “several” cruise missile launches off the coast of Nampho on Wednesday morning.
