World Schools Debate Academy Intense summer debate camp in WSD debate format with the tournament in the end. Activities consist of debate and content electives, preparations for debates with selected international trainers and practice debates with extensive feedback.

Pakistan Debate Academy 2013 Cancelled
The World Debate Institute is sad to announce the cancellation of the planned Pakistan Debate Academy, scheduled for June 2013 in Karachi.
While local organizers were hard working and dependable, there were some difficulties. Most of these difficulties concerned recruiting faculty for the event. Many potential faculty members were concerned by the security situation in Karachi, and while local organizers have worked hard on this issue, it was a major consideration for faculty. This combined with the inability for local organizers to come up with travel subsidy for trainers made it hard to recuit faculty.
“It is hard to ask people to pay for their own plane ticket to come to someplace where they would not feel safe,” said WDI director Alfred Snider, “and while I would do it, not everyone is able to be able to afford it under the circumstances. We are planning other south Asia events for later in the year, and we would love to try and reschedule in Pakistan. I especially want to thank Nayel Noorani who has worked so hard on this event along with the many students who I know will be disappointed. I promise I will try again.”
Again, WDI apologizes for this step that unfortunately had to be taken.

Pakistan Debate Academy 17-25 June 2013
With local organizers the Rotoract Public Speaking Forum the World Debate Institute and ZIP Slovenia are planning this event. The program is designed to bring the highest quality international debate instruction to Pakistan. The program is designed for high school and university students as well as those seeking to improve their debate training abilities. The program will take place in English.
The event will feature full days of training, featuring lectures, drills and exercises, elective classes students can choose, and TWO full practice debate every day. Instruction will begin at 8:45 AM and conclude by 6:30 PM. At the end of the program there will be a tournament and champions will be crowned.
Faculty will consist of internationally renowned debate instructors from Europe, United States and Asia. Star trainers from the subcontinent will also be there! A list will be coming soon.
