Under the framework of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, professionals are trained to:

• Avoid bias
• Obtain sufficient and appropriate evidence
• Apply professional skepticism
• Base opinions on facts — not assumptions

In an audit, a conclusion without evidence can damage reputations and misstate reality.

Yet in real life, we often “audit” people with incomplete information.

Ramadan is a month of self-accountability.
