Workshop Successfully Conducted | AI in Academic Publishing

The Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET), successfully organized the workshop "AI in Academic Publishing: A Practical Guide for Authors and Reviewers."

The session featured Dr. Dure Jabeen (Iqra University, Karachi) and Engr. Ghalib Nadeem (Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China), who shared practical insights on the responsible use of AI in research, AI-assisted manuscript writing, journal selection, peer review, and publication ethics.

ORIC extends its sincere appreciation to the distinguished speakers and all faculty members, researchers, and students for their enthusiastic participation. Special appreciation is extended to Dr. Fahad Farooq, Director ORIC, for his leadership in promoting research excellence and capacity building, and to Mr. Akbar Ali Khan, Chancellor SSUET, for his continued vision and support in strengthening the University's research, innovation, and international academic engagement.

SSUET Hosts Successful Job Fair 2026, Inaugurates AI Lab

Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) successfully organized Job Fair 2026, bringing together 120+ leading companies to connect students with career opportunities, internships, and industry professionals.

The event was inaugurated by Governor Sindh Nehal Hashmi, who also inaugurated the Muhammad Zakir Ali Khan Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Game Innovation (AI Lab) in the presence of Chancellor Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Afzal Haque, and Registrar Cdre. (R) Syed Sarfraz Ali SI (M).

Addressing the gathering, Chancellor Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan emphasized that the Job Fair provides students with direct access to employers, career guidance, and valuable networking opportunities while strengthening industry-academia collaboration. Governor Nehal Hashmi highlighted Pakistan's growing IT potential and appreciated SSUET's commitment to innovation and digital transformation through the establishment of the AI Lab.

Distinguished SSUET Alumnus Evaluates Final-Year Projects at CED Showcase ⭐

Sir Sy SSUET - Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology proudly welcomed its distinguished alumnus, Engr. Haroon Ahmed Siddiqui, who visited the campus and served as a judge at the Final Year Project (FYP) Showcase organized by the Computer Engineering Department (CED).

An alumnus of Computer Engineering, Batch 1995 (Section A), Engr. Haroon Ahmed Siddiqui is a successful entrepreneur based in the United States. During the showcase, he evaluated innovative final-year projects, shared valuable industry insights, and encouraged students to pursue excellence, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

During his visit, Engr. Haroon Ahmed Siddiqui also met with the Honorable Chancellor of SSUET, Mr. Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan, the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Afzal-ul-Haq, Ms. Erum Akbar Ali Khan, Chairperson of the Zakir Ali Khan Foundation, and members of the university’s senior management. The meeting reflected the strong bond between SSUET and its alumni and reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing quality engineering education and strengthening alumni engagement.

Engr. Haroon Ahmed Siddiqui is also a generous donor of the Student Shed, demonstrating his continued dedication to supporting SSUET and its students.

Special thanks are extended to the Director Maintenance, Engr. Osama Ahmed Siddiqui, for facilitating the entire process from securing the funding to inviting and coordinating with the distinguished guest. Engr. Osama Ahmed Siddiqui and Engr. Haroon Ahmed Siddiqui were once classmates at Sir Syed University, making this meaningful collaboration and contribution to their alma mater even more special.
