Model United Nations are often misunderstood as debating competitions, and very few people manage to realize the difference between debates and discussion. Discussions are fruitful. Moreover, the world is not divided into winners and losers; we all are learners. These academic conferences not only train us in speaking but also teach the how to make friends.
I believe that the enthusiastic team of RCSMUN would establish an example for upcoming MUN conferences. For me MUNs are like classrooms where everyone requires learning and then are rewarded according to their contributions. However, this learning is not the result of class exercises or assignments but speaking and listening turns out to be great tools for grooming once personality. There are several things a book cannot teach, unfortunately the most practical once. I hope the impressive excellence of the host team and the incredible knowledge of the secretariat would be a great opportunity at RCSMUN to refine your skills in making dialogues.

Greetings Everyone!
It is not long ago that I began with MUNs. I was very nervous in my first MUN, but then I realized that there are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure. One thing that always motivated me is; to be a champion, I think you have to see the big picture. It's not about succeeding and losing; it's about every day struggle and about thriving on a challenge. It's about embracing the pain that you'll experience at the end of a race and not being afraid.
Being able to communicate successfully is the most important of all life skills. Model United Nations plays an important role in developing your communication expertise that can help all aspects of your life, from your professional life to social gatherings and everything in between. The ability to communicate information accurately, clearly and as intended, is a vital life skill and something that should not be overlooked. It’s never too late to work on your communication skills and by doing so improve your quality of life. R.C.S MUN’16 is a perfect platform for enhancing your abilities.

I believe that a Model UN conference provides a diverse group of informed students and faculty a platform for addressing global concerns in a real world context. It teaches individuals to address current world issues related to regional conflicts, peacekeeping, human rights, social development, and that of the environment. It strives to provide students with a better understanding of the inner working of the UN and to foster skills in diplomacy and compromise.

Additionally, it teaches us to Dialogue, the most important skill of all. I myself, before MUNs, have been an individual far from the knowledge of the world that surrounds me. Speaking in front of a crowd has never been my strong hold but it is my consistent involvement in these conferences that taught me to feel invincible before an audience. In a little over two years proving myself on every stage has gown me a lot personally. At the end I would like to say that if on the last day while leaving the committee you can feel even a single change inside you then your purpose of coming to a Model UN conference is fulfilled.
