"Umar is in Jannah" (Jami' at-Tirmidhi 3747 )

Umar ؓ knew he was promised Paradise. Yet on his deathbed, when a young man came and praised him, listing his companionship with the Prophet ﷺ, his justice as Caliph, and his martyrdom, Umar ؓ replied:

"I wish that all these privileges will counterbalance my shortcomings, so that I neither lose nor gain anything."

The second greatest man in this Ummah, and still this was his fear of the Day of Judgment.
