Sayad Hashmi Reference Library (SHRL)
The idea of establishment of library conceived first time by Shaeed Professor Saba Dashtiyari in the decade of 90. He felt that there should a national organization, where all published and unpublished material on Baloch, Balochi and Balochistan preserved permanently for future posterity. To turn this idea in practical shape he visited different part of the world for donation. Additionally, he continuously arranged different formal and informal meetings with educationist, philanthropist, intellectual and social workers. The 1st first formal meeting held on 29th December 2002 at Safie Sports club Baghdadi leyari Karachi., member of the meeting decided to form an ad hoc committee which responsible to work on rules and regulation of the library. Moreover, decision of construction of building for the library was also taken. It is worth mentioning here that, land for the building was provided by Mr. On 31st 2003 inauguration ceremony held at Dehkan Garden Malir, in this moment caretaker President Lala Lal Bakhsh Rind laid the foundation Stone of the Library. Moreover, membership of the library also opened in this juncture. Its wroth mentioning here that, in the third meeting of the library a unanimous resolution passed to select Lala Lal Bakhsh Rind as President of the library for life time, in the light of his rendered services to community development. Soon after, on 13th March 2005 library was opened for members. In this way, library started its journey and moving towards its destination “Institution of Balochology” ” at a fast pace. It is to be noted that, it is hard work, sincerity and support of eminent Baloch intellectual moreover, founding father of this organization Shaeed Professor Saba Dashtiari along his team library has became focal point for the researcher scholars and students of Baloch, Balochi and Balochistan.
