As part of the certificate course Scientific & Ethical Dimensions of Human Subject Research, Farid bin Masood guided participants through the next stage of developing their research proposals.
Building on their research questions and literature reviews, the session focused on understanding variables and their significance, writing strong and actionable objectives, and developing concrete hypotheses.
Participants from across SIUT continue to strengthen their individual research proposals through a step-by-step engagement with the scientific and ethical dimensions of research.

During the second session of the certificate course, Scientific & Ethical Dimensions of Human Subject Research, CBEC faculty, Farid bin Masood led a session on developing literature reviews and building a strong research rationale.
Conducted for SIUT residents and faculty, the course brings together participants from ten departments to strengthen the scientific and ethical foundations of human subject research.

Centre of Biomedical Ethics and Culture (CBEC), SIUT commenced the first session of the certificate course Scientific & Ethical Dimensions of Human Subject Research, bringing together SIUT residents for an introduction to the foundations of research and research ethics.
The course is designed to strengthen participants’ understanding of the research process, study design, ethical review, and the responsibilities involved in conducting research involving human participants.

Centre of Biomedical Ethics and Culture, SIUT conducted another Ethics in Research training session for nurses from SIUT School of Nursing, focusing on privacy, confidentiality, and research involving vulnerable populations.
The session also explored how vulnerability extends beyond designated groups, reflecting on how illness and the knowledge asymmetry between healthcare professionals and patients can shape decision-making, autonomy, and ethical responsibility.
