نئی پی ایچ ڈی پالیسی۔
نئی پی ایچ ڈی پالیسی یکم مارچ 2021 سے لاگو ہو چکی یے۔
اس سال ہر یونیورسٹی اس پالیسی کے تحت داخلہ دے گی۔
1. اب بی ایس چار سالہ سٹوڈنٹ ڈائریکٹ پی ایچ ڈی میں enrollہو سکتا ہے۔
2. جس سبجیکٹ میں پی ایچ ڈی کرنا چاہتے ہیں کر سکتے ہیں بھلے سے وہ سبجیکٹ آپ نے بی ایس میں نہ پڑھا ہو۔
3. کل کریڈٹ آورز 48 ہیں۔ اگر آپ پہلے سے ایم فل ہیں تو صرف 24 کریڈٹ آورز پڑھیں گے۔
4. بی ایس کے سٹوڈنٹس چار سمیسٹر کا کورس ورک کریں گے جبکہ پہلے سے ایم فل سٹوڈنٹس دو سمسٹر پڑھیں گے یعنی بی ایس کے طلباء و طالبات کے ساتھ تیسرے سمسٹر میں شریک ہو سکیں گے۔
پی ایچ ڈی میں داخلے کے لۓ 3CGPAلازمی ہے۔

مضمرات
1. پی ایچ ڈی میں ریسرچ لازمی ہوتی ہے۔ یعنی آپ نے تھیسس لکھنا ہے۔
2. بی ایس کے زیادہ تر پروگرامز میں ریسرچ آپشنل ہے۔ مرضی ہے ریسرچ کریں مرضی ہے ایکسٹرا کورسز پڑھیں۔ جن سٹوڈنٹس نے بی ایس میں ریسرچ نہ کی ہوئی وہ پی ایچ ڈی میں خود بھی خوار ہوں گے اور اپنے سپروائزر کو بھی خوار کریں گے۔
3. کالجز میں ،انتہائ معذرت کے ساتھ، سٹوڈنٹس کو ریسرچ کی بجائے ایکسٹرا کورسز پڑھنے کی ترغیب دی جاتی ہے ۔انھیں باور کروایا جاتا ہے کہ ریسرچ کرو گے تو پھنس جاؤ گے۔ایکسٹرا کورسز پڑھو اور ڈگری لو۔ ریسرچ میں اساتذہ کو بھی ٹف ٹائم ملتا یے۔ اور انھیں بھی competentہونا پڑتا یے۔ لہذا دونوں یعنی سٹوڈنٹس اور استاذہ عارضی فائدہ سامنے رکھتے ہوئے آسان راستے کا انتخاب کرتے ہیں۔ لیکن سٹوڈنٹس اپنے لۓ اگلی ہائیر ایجوکیشن کے لۓ راستہ دشوار کر رہے ہوتے ہیں۔
4. اس کا ایک حل بھی یے۔ اگر سٹوڈینٹس کی بی ایس کی ڈگری ریسرچ کی وجہ سے تھوڑی بہت delayہو سکتی ہے تو ریسرچ کے لۓ صرف انھی سٹوڈنٹس کو چنیں جن کا cgpa تین یا اس سے زیادہ ہو ( پی ایچ ڈی کی requirement). دوسرا، ساتویں سمسٹر میں ہی پروپوزل اور تھیسس پر کام شروع کروا دیں۔
تیسرا، سٹوڈنٹس کو چوتھے، پانچویں اور چھٹے سمیسٹرز میں چھوٹے چھوٹے ریسرچ پراجیکٹ دیں۔ ساتویں میں ریسرچ میتھڈالوجی کا کورس ریسرچ پراجیکٹ کی صورت میں کروائیں۔ اس طرح ان کو اتنی پریکٹس ہو چکی ہو گی کہ ریسرچ انھیں آسان لگے گی۔ آخری بات ،اگر سٹوڈنٹس آخر میں پھر بھی ریسرچ نہ کریں تو کوئی بات نہیں کیونکہ انھوں نے چوتھے، پانچویں اور چھٹے سمسٹرز میں ریسرچ سے آشنائی کر لی ہو گی۔اب اگر وہ پی ایچ ڈی میں جائیں گے تو انھیں مسلئہ نہیں ہو گا۔
جہاں تک ممکن ہو ریسرچ کلچر کو عام کیا جاۓ۔ اساتذہ اپنی ریسرچ سکلز بھی brush upکریں۔

How does petty cash affect expenses?
Petty Cash is a current asset account; it is part of a company's cash. A petty cash fund is established by cashing a check drawn on the company's regular checking account and giving the currency and coins to the petty cash custodian. No expense is involved in this transaction since the company is simply creating the asset account Petty Cash by reducing another asset account.

An expense occurs when the company pays the postal carrier for the postage that is due on the incoming mail. Another expense occurs when the company sends an employee to pick up some needed supplies. If these expenses are paid with money in the petty cash fund, the currency and coins held by the petty cash custodian will decrease and in place of that money the custodian will have petty cash receipts or petty cash vouchers. The expenses will be recorded in the general ledger when the petty cash fund is replenished.

In order to get the expenses entered in the proper accounting period, it is necessary to replenish the petty cash fund at the end of each accounting period. (This is done in addition to replenishing the fund whenever the currency and coins are low.)

Why doesn't the balance sheet equal the post-closing trial balance?
The totals on the balance sheet will not equal the totals on the post-closing trial balance due to contra accounts. We will use the contra account Accumulated Depreciation to illustrate why this occurs.

The account Accumulated Depreciation will have a credit balance and it will be listed in the credit column of the trial balance. Its credit balance will be included with the other credit balances, most of which are liability accounts and owner or stockholder equity accounts.

On the balance sheet, the credit balance in Accumulated Depreciation will not be reported with the other credit balances. Rather, the credit balance in Accumulated Depreciation will be a deduction from the debit balances reported in the asset section entitled property, plant and equipment.

What is the difference between entries in a general journal versus a general ledger?
In short, transactions are first recorded in journals. From the journals the amounts are posted to the specified accounts in the general ledger.

Let's illustrate the difference between entries to the general journal versus general ledger with the depreciation associated with a company's equipment.

The depreciation on equipment is first recorded in the general journal. A journal lists transactions in order by date and is defined as the book of original entry. To record depreciation on equipment in the amount of $10,000, the general journal will show a date, such as December 31, a debit to Depreciation Expense for $10,000 and a credit to Accumulated Depreciation for $10,000.

The amounts in the general journal are then posted to the specified accounts, which are contained in the general ledger. In our example, the account Depreciation Expense will be debited as of December 31 for $10,000 and the account Accumulated Depreciation will be credited as of December 31 for $10,000.

What is an adjusted trial balance?
An adjusted trial balance is a listing of all the account titles and balances contained in the general ledger after the adjusting entries for an accounting period have been posted to the accounts.

The adjusted trial balance is an internal document and is not a financial statement. The purpose of the adjusted trial balance is to be certain that the total amount of debit balances in the general ledger equals the total amount of credit balances.

What is the difference between product costs and period costs?
A manufacturer's product costs are the direct materials, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead used in making its products. (Manufacturing overhead is also referred to as factory overhead, indirect manufacturing costs, and burden.) The product costs of direct materials, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead are also "inventoriable" costs, since these are the necessary costs of manufacturing the products.

Period costs are not a necessary part of the manufacturing process. As a result, period costs cannot be assigned to the products or to the cost of inventory. The period costs are usually associated with the selling function of the business or its general administration. The period costs are reported as expenses in the accounting period in which they 1) best match with revenues, 2) when they expire, or 3) in the current accounting period.
