Students of Department of Petroleum Technology celebrated Teachers Day with full zeal and enthusiasm, and vowed to always be thankful to their Teachers in their entire life. The event started with recitation of Holy Quran, followed by some amazing performance of Speeches by students, and ended with cake cutting ceremony.

Independence day was celebrated with zeal and enlivened at the Department of Petroleum Technology, University of Karachi.
This day is to commemorate the sacrifices that were made to get this beautiful country

With reference to the recruitment drive conducted by Engro Polymer at the Department of Petroleum Technology, University of Karachi. We would like to congratulate Amra Jaffery for being selected, and wish her best of luck in her future endeavors

Engro Polymer and Chemicals Limited visited Department of Petroleum Technology for its Recruitment Drive. In this regard a paper based test was held by Engro Team, which was attended by recent graduated students.

As per instructions Department officials and Engro Team also advised students to follow Covid-19 protocols strictly.

Department of Petroleum Technology, University of Karachi (UoK) arranged a one day field visit of students to OGDCL Sinjhoro Gas and Condensate Field (Sanghar, Sindh). This field is producing 33MMSCF gas and more than 150 Mton of LPG per day. Students were also allowed to visit the nearby Rig Site where one development well was being drilled and then shown the processing facility of the field.

The Field Manager (FM sab) also distributed field souvenirs to faculty members and female students of the department. Department of Petroleum Technology (UoK) is very much thankful to all the officials of the Sinjhoro field for their hospitality and kind gesture, and looking forward to their support for future visits.

Department of Petroleum Technology, University of Karachi arranged an Orientation Session for the new intake students of 2022. The program started with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a brief Introduction of degree programs being offered in the Department. The interactive session ended after answering of queries, and questions from students by Faculty Members.

Department of Petroleum Technology, University of Karachi (UoK) arranged the one-day visit to Tando Alam Oil Complex (TOC) OGDCL field. This field has the collective capacity to produce more than 7,000 bbls of oil per day. After the HSE, and field briefing session given by HSE incharge and Production incharge respectively, students visited the field facility and one shut-in well located in the vicinity of the facility.

We congratulate Abdul Rahim on getting affiliated with Uptime Technologies ( a leading lubricants reliability services providing company) as Project Coordinator. We wish him all the very best in his future endeavors.

Visit of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid M. Iraqi at Department of Petroleum Technology for a cause related to land allocation and infrastructure development.

جامعہ کراچی کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر خالد محمو دعراقی نے کہا کہ جامعات اورصنعتوں کے مابین اشتراک سے ہمارے گریجویٹس کو دوران تدریس سیکھنے کو بہت کچھ ملے گا اور ملازمت کے بھی بہترین مواقع قومی اور بین الاقوامی سطح پر میسرآئیں گے۔تیل اورگیس کے شعبہ میں پوری دنیا میں ملازمت کے بہترین مواقع میسر ہیں ضرورت اس امر کی ہے کہ ہمارے طلبہ مارکیٹ کی ضروریات اور عصر حاضر کے جدید تقاضوں سے ہم آہنگ ہو جس کے لئے اس صنعت سے اشتراک اور اس میں موجودماہرین کے تجربات سے استفادہ کرنا ناگزیر ہے۔ اس سلسلے میں شعبہ پیٹرولیم ٹیکنالوجی کے لئے دورجدید کی سہولیات سے آراستہ ایک نئی عمارت کی تعمیرکے لئے پی سی ون تیارکیاجارہاہے اور بہت جلد اس منصوبے کو عملی جامہ پہنایاجائے گا۔شعبہ ہذا میں صنعتوں کی سفارشات کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے جدید سہولیات سے آراستہ لیبز قائم کئے جائیں گے۔

ان خیالات کا اظہار انہوں نے شعبہ پیٹرولیم ٹیکنالوجی جامعہ کراچی کی مختلف کلاس رومز اور لیبز کا دورہ کرتے ہوئے کیا۔اس موقع پر رئیسہ کلیہ علوم پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ناصرہ خاتون،اسٹیٹ آفیسر نورین شارق،ممبرسنڈیکیٹ جامعہ کراچی پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ایس ایم طحہٰ اور دیگر فیکلٹی ممبران بھی موجود تھے۔

انچارج شعبہ پیٹرولیم ٹیکنالوجی جامعہ کراچی کاشف صادق نے شیخ الجامعہ کو بتایا کہ شعبہ کے فارغ التحصیل طلبہ کو وقتاً فوقتاًشعبہ ہذا میں ہونے والے سیمینارز،ورکشاپس اور مختلف تربیتی پروگرامز میں مدعو کیا جائے گاتاکہ شعبہ ہذا کے طلبہ ان کے تجربات سے استفادہ کرسکیں اور موجودہ دور کی مارکیٹ ضروریات سے ہم آہنگ ہوسکیں۔
