Jawad Shafique, Senior Lecturer, at BMED SSUET, was invited as a speaker at the Empowering Healthcare Webinar organized by Dublin City University, Ireland. His talk, titled “Artificial Intelligence Transforming Healthcare Diagnostics,” explored critical challenges in modern healthcare and demonstrated how artificial intelligence is revolutionizing medical diagnostics, assistive and wearable technologies, and intelligent healthcare systems. The presentation also discussed emerging research trends, real-world clinical applications, quantitative impact of AI-driven solutions, and future directions toward smart and personalized healthcare.
The webinar brought together students from Dublin City University along with faculty members and students from several universities across Pakistan, fostering international academic exchange in cutting-edge biomedical technologies.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering, SSUET, congratulates our faculty member, Dr. Jahanzaib Sheikh, on being selected by (SSUET) Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology to represent the university at the Second Advanced Training Programme for Senior Academics held at Tianjin Foreign Studies University, China, under the CPEC University Consortium jointly established by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and the China Association of Higher Education,
The two-week programme brought together 24 faculty members from leading Pakistani universities to enhance academic collaboration and capacity building. The CPEC University Consortium, serves as a key platform for strengthening higher education cooperation under CPEC.
Chairperson, Biomedical Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Sidra Abid Syed, extended her best wishes to Dr. Jahanzaib Sheikh and expressed confidence that he will effectively implement and disseminate the knowledge and insights gained from this training programme at SSUET for the benefit of the department and university.

BMED SSUET wins the Chairman’s Best Paper Gold Medal Award by The Institution of Engineers, Pakistan at IBDC 2026, organized by NED University of Engineering & Technology!
The Department of Biomedical Engineering proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of our brilliant final-year students Adiya Barshagal, Zoya Hanif, and Fatima Asad, who have raised the flag of SSUET high on an international research platform.
Working under the dedicated supervision of Engr. Muhammad Jawad Shafique and Dr. Ambreen Hasnat and the inspiring leadership of Prof. Dr. Sidra Abid Syed, the team presented their groundbreaking research: “Design and Comparative Analysis of Multi-Variant Herbal Transdermal Systems for Long-Lasting Pain Modulation.”
