Muzammil A. Arain completed his B.S from N.E.D UET, Karachi in 1998. He received his M.S and Ph.D in 2002 and 2005 respectively, in Optics from University of Central Florida, USA.
He Played a Major role in discovery of Gravitational Waves but unfortunately didn't get the due recognition as others got. According to his LinkedIn Profile he worked as a Research Scientist in University of Florida from 2005-2010 and his major contributions were

Research and development in optics and optical metrology
Installation of LIGO input optics in class 100 clean room environment
Designing, modeling, and validating thermal compensation system for high power laser cavities
• Completed optical layout of 4-km long interferometer for 300 M $ NSF project
• Participated in installation activities at LIGO sites in class 100 environment
• Modeling and developing polarization optics
• Modeled opto-thermal, thermal, and mechanical properties of material
• Worked with mechanical engineers to create opto-mechanical assemblies
• Lead the inception, prototyping, assembly, and testing of adaptive thermal compensation system resulting in patent
• Interacted and qualified vendors and products (lasers, materials, instruments)
• Collaborated and helped AIGO (Australian), VIRGO (European), and LCGT (Japanese interferometer) design and analysis

What a day! The workshop conducted by Suparco trainers was a hit. The hall was overflowing with participants. A great turnover. Thank you all for your participation.
