The insightful session was delivered by Rana Umair Hameed, Doctoral Researcher at Maynooth University, Ireland, whose research is supervised by Prof. Gerard Lacey. He shared valuable perspectives on smart sensing, agricultural robotics, data analytics, digital decision-support tools, efficient resource management, climate-resilient farming and emerging opportunities for collaboration among researchers, industry professionals and farmers.

The event reflected the shared commitment of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Maynooth University, ACTIVE – Active Youth Active Citizenship, Erasmus+, the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society Karachi Chapter and the IEEE Karachi Section toward advancing innovation and sustainable agricultural development.

Rana Umair Hameed’s academic and professional journey also includes associations with the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan, the Università di Trento, Italy, Mechesol Co., Pakistan, and the Pakistan Engineering Council.
