Known for his major Hadith collection, Sahih al-Bukhari, Imam al-Bukhari is considered one of the most distinguished scholars of Hadith in Islamic history.

Muhammad al-Bukhari was born in Bukhara in 810 AD. He gathered approximately 600,000 traditions. However, he selected only about 7,275 that he deemed completely reliable and thus, meriting inclusion in his Al-Jami al-Ṣahih (English: The Authentic Collection).

Imam Bukhari's exceptional feat of scholarship constitutes a magnificent contribution to Islam. His collection of Sahih al-Bukhari has served as an indispensable source of hadith-based jurisprudence for the last one thousand years. After Quran, it is accepted as the most authentic source of religious law and sacred work in Sunni tradition.
