๐Ÿš€ Career Accelerator 2026 โ€“ Day 2 Highlights

Day 2 of Career Accelerator 2026 featured an exciting Recruitment Drive for students enrolled in their second year and above, recent graduates, and alumni of the university.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Hafeez Khan, Advisor to the Vice Chancellor on Academic Affairs & Dean, Faculty of Information Technology, along with Mr. Ghulam Mustafa Shaikh, Registrar, SMIU, and Mr. Furqan Iftikhar, Controller of Examinations, SMIU.

We were honoured to host a diverse group of employers, including Meezan Bank Limited, TGT Nexus Pvt. Ltd, Realistik Solutions, Humantek, Human Capital HR Solutions (HC), PostEx, Virtuous BPO (Pvt.) Limited, Fulcrum Pvt. Limited, Scaleup Connect.

The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 200 students and graduates participating in the recruitment process. On average, each candidate appeared for interviews with four different organizations, providing them with valuable exposure and multiple career opportunities.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all participating organizations for their valuable presence, support, and commitment to nurturing young talent. Your engagement provided our students and alumni with meaningful opportunities to interact with industry professionals, explore career pathways, and showcase their potential.

The Directorate of Studentsโ€™ Affairs and Counselling remains committed to strengthening academia-industry linkages and creating impactful opportunities for our students and graduates.

Day-1
The Career Accelerator 2026 Program, organized by the Directorate of Students Affairs and Counselling, Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU), was a two-day initiative designed to enhance studentsโ€™ employability skills and connect them with leading industry professionals through training sessions and on-campus recruitment opportunities.

The interactive workshop on CV Writing and Interview Skills were focused on Day 1, June 3,2026, aimed at preparing students and recent graduates for todayโ€™s competitive job market.

We were honoured to have Mr. Salman Noor Shaikh, Manager Human Resources at Kutiyana Memon Hospital, Karachi, who conducted an insightful session on effective CV writing and interview preparation, sharing practical tips from an industry perspective.

A team from Meezan Bank Limited, led by the Regional Sales Manager Mr. Arif Hussain, also briefed students about various career opportunities at the bank and provided valuable insights into their recruitment process and expectations from fresh candidates.

In addition, Dr. Quratulain Memon Senior Manager Students Affairs (SMIU) shared important professional guidance on how to confidently prepare for and succeed in job interviews.

This initiative reflects SMIUโ€™s continued commitment to strengthening industry-academia linkages and empowering students with the skills and opportunities needed for successful career pathways.

โ€œStart-Up Summit 6.0: From Concept to Successโ€

The Faculty of Management, Business Administration, and Commerce Business Incubation Center of Sindh Madressatul Islam University jointly organized the โ€œStart-Up Summit 6.0: From Concept to Successโ€ at the I.T. Tower of the university. Vice Chancellor of SMIU Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, along with the Dean of the Faculty of the Management, Business Administration, and Commerce, Dr. Jamshed Adil, Dean Faculty of I.T. Dr. Abdul Hafeez Khan, Assistant Professor Shahid Obaid, and other faculty members, inaugurated the summit. Thereafter he visited stalls and encouraged the participating students for their innovative ideas and projects. At the summit, more than 130 aspiring entrepreneurs presented 34 innovative start-up ideas, demonstrating the creativity, talent, and entrepreneurial spirit of SMIU students. The event provided students with a platform to transform innovative ideas into viable business ventures and interact with mentors, industry experts, and fellow innovators.

Faculty members and industry experts commended the students for their innovative approaches and highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in generating employment opportunities and contributing to economic growth.

Addressing the students, Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai emphasized that every successful business begins with an original idea. He encouraged young entrepreneurs to focus on developing their own creative concepts and then seek guidance, mentoring, and support from incubation centers to transform those ideas into successful enterprises.

The summit featured a diverse range of innovative projects and business solutions. Students showcased herbal and organic products, digital marketing and branding agencies, low-cost investment initiatives, digital platforms for cosmetics and beauty products, marketing automation tools, recruitment and human resource solutions, agriculture and soil enhancement products, healthcare devices, business management solutions, film and television-related technologies, domestic water purification solutions, environmentally friendly plastic-free products, income tax facilitation services, school-location and educational data tools, as well as food, beverage, entertainment, and recreational ventures.

Participants presented solutions designed to address contemporary social, environmental, and business challenges while exploring opportunities in emerging sectors of the digital economy. The event enabled students to gain practical experience in business planning, product development, marketing strategies, and investor pitching.

The organizers stated that Start-Up Summit 6.0 reflects SMIU's continued commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial talent and promoting a culture of innovation. The event concluded with appreciation for all participating teams, faculty mentors, judges, and organizers whose contributions made the summit a success.

The summit reaffirmed SMIU's vision of producing innovative graduates, supporting entrepreneurship, and contributing to sustainable economic development through education, research, and industry engagement.

This is the report of the โ€œJashn-e-Shaeriโ€, which was organized by SMIU Literary and Art Societies of Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) to celebrate classical Urdu and Sindhi poetry. The performances by SMIU featured poetry of Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Ahmad Faraz, Muneer Niazi, Nasir Kazmi, Jaun Elia, Parveen Shakir, and Sindhi poet Shaikh Ayaz.
Dr. Subash Babu, Chairperson of the Department of Social and Development Studies and Assistant Professor Wafa Mansoor Buriro, Patron of the Literary Society also spoke on the occasion, and appreciated the joint efforts of both the societies for organizing a well-coordinated and intellectually engaging programme that successfully promoted literary culture on campus.

World Environment Day 2026

The Community Services Society at Sindh Madressatul Islam University organized an awareness activity in observance of World Environment Day.

The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage the adoption of eco-friendly and responsible environmental practices.

Students and faculty members actively participated in the pledge-signing campaign, where more than 80 individuals pledged their commitment towards a cleaner, greener, and healthier environment.

The activity emphasized the importance of cleanliness, pollution reduction, and collective responsibility towards environmental protection.
