At Academus, meaningful learning begins with educators who remain committed to learning themselves.

Our teaching faculty participated in a focused and engaging Professional Development session on Assessment for Learning (AfL), exploring how assessment can become a powerful part of the teaching and learning process.

AfL extends far beyond measuring attainment. It is about understanding where learners are, identifying where they need to go, and using evidence, questioning, observation, and meaningful feedback to help them move forward. When assessment informs instruction, every classroom interaction becomes an opportunity for progress.

Continuous Professional Development remains integral to our academic culture. It enables educators to reflect critically on their practice, exchange perspectives, refine their approaches, and translate professional learning into stronger classroom experiences for every child.

The session was led by Ms. Sonia Iqbal, Academic Manager JYS, with a particular emphasis on making assessment purposeful, responsive, and impactful.

Because when teachers continue to learn, teaching evolves, classrooms become stronger, and learners thrive.

In remembrance. In gratitude. In faith.

As the blessed spirit of Rabi-ul-Awwal fills our hearts, Academus International Schools come together for Echoes of Faith – Tasbeeh & Tribute, a meaningful occasion dedicated to reflection, remembrance and gratitude.

Through collective Tasbeeh and thoughtful reflection, our learners will celebrate the timeless teachings of our beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) - teachings that continue to illuminate the values of compassion, kindness, humility, respect and service to others.

At Academus, education extends beyond academic achievement. We believe in nurturing character, strengthening values and helping our learners grow into thoughtful, compassionate human beings who understand their responsibility towards one another and the wider world.

A day of Tasbeeh. Reflection. Remembrance.
A celebration of faith and the values that shape character.

Patterns are everywhere - and learning to recognise them is an important foundation for mathematical thinking.

Our Kindergarten learners explored repeating patterns through shape printing, combining early mathematics with creativity and hands-on discovery. Using different shapes and colours, children observed sequences, identified what came next, and experimented with creating and extending patterns of their own.

While the activity appeared wonderfully simple and playful, it supported a rich range of developmental skills. Learners strengthened their shape recognition, sequencing, concentration, logical thinking, fine-motor control, and hand-eye coordination, while developing the confidence to make independent choices and test their ideas.

At Academus, Early Years mathematics is experienced rather than simply taught. Through purposeful play, exploration, and carefully designed activities, abstract concepts become visible, tangible, and meaningful for young minds.

Observe the pattern. Discover the sequence. Create what comes next.

NUVEX x Academus | STEM in Motion

From an idea on paper to a car on the track - and from engineering concepts to a glider in flight - the journey towards innovation has begun at Academus.

In collaboration with NUVEX, Academus International School hosted introductory sessions for Race Pakistan and Aero Pakistan, two national STEM competitions that challenge students to move beyond theoretical learning and experience the processes of designing, engineering, building, testing, refining, and presenting their own miniature racing cars and gliders.

More than 80 Academus learners participated in the sessions, discovering how STEM connects with future pathways in engineering, aviation, design, technology, business, and entrepreneurship.

Selected teams will now embark upon an exciting journey supported through specialised seminars, technical workshops, resources, and mentorship - taking their concepts from initial design through development and ultimately to the final presentation.

This is precisely the kind of learning we champion at Academus: interdisciplinary, experiential, challenging, and connected to the real world.

With the Final Competition scheduled for 30–31 January 2027, the countdown has officially begun.

Design. Engineer. Test. Refine. Race. Fly. Innovate.

Small choices, repeated every day, have the power to shape healthier, happier, and more effective learners.

Continuing their Energy Project, our Junior V students explored how healthy choices, positive routines, and responsible use of technology contribute towards a balanced and productive lifestyle.

Learners created purposeful slogans promoting healthy living, identified personal goals for becoming better learners, and developed their own “Energy Promises” - individual commitments to the habits they aspire to practise each day.

Through meaningful ICT integration, students also examined their relationship with technology, reflecting upon responsible screen use, regular breaks, effective digital-time management, and ways in which technology can enhance rather than distract from focus, creativity, and learning.

The experience encouraged self-awareness, reflection, goal-setting, digital responsibility, and student agency, helping learners recognise that meaningful change often begins with small, intentional decisions.

At Academus, PBL is not simply about completing a project. It is about connecting knowledge with real life and empowering learners to make informed choices for themselves.

Who said learning about safety had to be boring?

Our Junior IV Safety Squad stepped into the roles of thoughtful decision-makers, creative problem-solvers, confident communicators, and young safety advocates as they explored how responsible choices can protect themselves and others.

Through purposeful, hands-on activities, learners examined real-life situations, practised confident body language, created informative posters on road safety, water safety, and stranger awareness, designed safety maps, and developed memorable safety messages to communicate their understanding.

Each experience encouraged students to observe carefully, analyse situations, anticipate risks, communicate effectively, and make informed decisions. More importantly, learners discovered that safety extends far beyond memorising a set of rules - it requires awareness, judgement, confidence, and the ability to apply knowledge when it matters.

At Academus, Project-Based Learning connects classroom inquiry with the real world, equipping learners with knowledge alongside the practical life skills to use it responsibly.
