Perspectives on Pakistan’s Economic Challenges

Dr. S Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director - IBA, joined Samaa TV’s Economy Matters for a discussion on Pakistan’s fiscal challenges and the path towards sustainable economic development.

Dr. Zaidi shared insights on the IMF’s role, taxation and the tax-to-GDP ratio, provincial revenue generation, federal borrowing, debt management, and circular debt. He emphasized the importance of a broader and more effective taxation framework and the productive use of borrowed funds to support long-term economic growth.
