As we gather with our families to celebrate Eid ul Adha, let us take a moment to reflect on the true essence of this beautiful day.
Eid ul Adha is not merely a celebration of feast and festivities; it is a profound reminder of the ultimate devotion, unwavering faith, and submissive obedience of **Prophet Ibrahim (AS)** and his son, **Prophet Ismail (AS)**.
When tested with the ultimate sacrifice, their hearts did not waver. They chose trust over fear, and devotion over worldly attachment.
> *"O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" So We gave him the good news of a forbearing boy. And, when he was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you. So look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha'Allah, you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient)."* > — **Surah As-Saffat (37:100-102)**
As we perform the Qurbani today, let’s remember that Allah does not reach the meat or the blood of the sacrifice, but rather the **piety and intention** within our hearts. Let this Eid be a renewal of our own commitment to sacrifice our egos, our selfishness, and our worldly desires for the sake of the Almighty.
