Dow Digital Learning Center

The launch ceremony of the centralized Learning Management System (LMS) for
Dow University of Health Sciences marked a significant milestone achieved by the
Digital Learning Team. The launch event was an exciting and momentous
occasion, which showcased the capabilities of the LMS like system& #39;s features,
benefits, easy access, and navigation. The advanced centralized LMS aims to bring
a transformative impact by providing a seamless platform for course
management, content delivery, and collaboration, streamlining the learning
process, and fostering a more engaging and interactive teaching and learning
environment.
The Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Mohammed Saeed Quraishy, Honorable Pro
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sarah Kazi, Principal Dow Medical College Prof. Dr. Saba
Sohail, Principal Dow College of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Sumbul Shamim, and
Professor Ashar Afaq, Registrar, DUHS graced the occasion along with the
Chairpersons and the senior faculty members.
Insightful presentations were given by Director Digital Learning, Prof. Dr. Yahya
Noori about faculty lead student teaching video creation and collaboration,
welcome address was given by Deputy Director, Dr. Jaffar Zaidi and he also
explained the issues with the previous LMS and advantages of the new LMS.
Advanced Centralized LMS demonstration, user login, course navigation and
mobile app features were presented by Manager Digital Learning, Maaz Bin
Ahmed.
Inspirational and motivational speeches were given by Honorable Vice Chancellor
Prof. Mohammed Saeed Quraishy, he encouraged the faculty to use the LMS as a
teaching, learning and assessment tool as recommended Higher Education
Commission Pakistan. Honorable Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sarah Kazi shared
the statistics and the progress of faculty training workshops and appreciated
Content Team Manager, Maria Siddiqui for faculty soft skill trainings and the quick
turnover of faculty video lectures. A vote of thanks was given by Director HR, Syed
Farhan Mahmood.
At the end of the ceremony, Awards and Certificates were distributed to
appreciate the tremendous efforts of team members and faculty members for

actively and enthusiastically participating in the digitalization of teaching and
learning.

A glimpse of our team meeting which was focused on brainstorming creative ideas regarding digital learning and how we can create effective learning action plans.
The agenda was to ensure that our faculty members have the necessary digital skills and knowledge required to succeed in their roles. With a combination of digital resources, training sessions, and hands-on learning experiences into our training and development initiatives, we can measure the success of our digital learning initiatives.

The Digital Learning Centre conducted a series of 14 workshops from February 27 – March 14, 2023. The main agenda was to train faculty members on effective and engaging teaching practices, digital learning strategies, video lecture recording on PowerPoint 365 and course creation on Learning Management System (LMS).
Faculty members from 11 institutions have been trained successfully from March 8th to March 11th, 2023. Nominated faculty from Dow Dental College (DDC), Dow International Dental College (DIDC) and Dow College of Pharmacy (DCP) participated in the workshops. They were trained and evaluated at the end of the 2-day training sessions on effective and engaging teaching practices, digital content creation, video lecture creation on PowerPoint 365 and course creation on Learning Management System (LMS).
The feedback from the faculty for these workshops was positive and encouraging. More interactive workshops for faculty have been planned.

These interactive workshops were based on effective and engaging teaching practices, digital content creation, video lecture creation on PowerPoint 365 and course creation on Learning Management System (LMS).
The faculty members appreciated these two-day intensive workshops and actively participated in these workshops.

We are here to equip faculty with digital and media literacy skills to incorporate in their pedagogical methods. Providing faculty an opportunity to acquire the multimedia skills and the ability to apply these skills effectively, efficiently and effortlessly.
